Castello Lauritano — Attraction in Agerola

A view to die for, overlooking Amalfi, Maiori and most of the gulf of Salerno as far as the eye can see. 📌Il 𝘾𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤 𝙇𝙖𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙤 fu costruito intorno all’anno 1000, durante il periodo di massimo splendore della Repubblica Amalfitana, con funzione di torre di avvistamento contro i Saraceni.

Dopo il declino della Repubblica, nel 1600, venne trasformato in casa colonica, subendo nel tempo un forte degrado, aggravato anche dal terremoto degli anni '80.

Dal 1998 è stato acquistato e sottoposto a lavori di recupero, con l’obiettivo di riportarlo al suo antico splendore.

È un bene tutelato per il suo valore storico, architettonico e paesaggistico, essendo uno degli ultimi esempi di edilizia nobiliare tradizionale ad Agerola. Sono andata speranzosa di trovarlo aperto ma niente, però attorno al castello c'è una vista mozzafiato quindi vi potete perdere...
