DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. A free museum is an intelligent way to get you to visit their olive product shop which is otherwise in the middle of nowhere. The museum itself is surprisingly good given that it's free. Five stars in fact. The bit you'd think they'd focus on -- the shop -- is why I gave it two stars. I was excited to do an olive oil tasting, but the whole place was totally unorganised. There are no tables and chairs but rather a bar. There was no organised queue, just a large tour group all over the place. And two families were being served at the bar, which was the maximum it could fit, while I just watched for 20 minutes waiting for them to be done. After that, I gave up. The experience is like going to a restaurant with one table and having to watch diners eat for hours until it's your turn, but not knowing when your turn will be out of the many people crowded around.
Edit: I see they say the tastings are free. Maybe they should charge for them to reduce the queue. Or just have tables and provide a selection to people at the same time, as wine tastings do. There were clear arrows on the ground to show which way people should queue but no one was...
Read moreThis is well worth a visit. In a very short time they provide a very informative education on Olive oil and how it is made both now and in the past. They have a few nicely done videos and many museum quality items from the history of Olive oil production. At the end you can sample many items and buy some if you like. Also note that the restroom is outside on the side of the building and they need to buzz you in from...
Read moreVery busy. The museum, while well laid out, takes only about 15 minutes when both video sequences and associated commentary are dominated by the large number of German tourists. The shop was too busy to enjoy browsing and very, very limited tasting only at 1 of the 3 counters. We walked to it, but the carparking outside on a busy road was clearly an issue for the poor lad trying to make it work without...
