Great food and views but terrible service...

We came to eat here at Bagni Lido while on holiday as a group of five. The view is amazing, the restaurant being right next to the water. The menu was also very diverse with reasonable prices. The service however was terrible, or at least our server was. We do understand that summer is a very busy and stressful time in restauration but this does not justify in any way the way we were treated by our server.

We as a group do not speak Italian but do however speak fluent French and English, leaving only a minor language barrier that was not of any inconvenience until this dinner. As we all ordered our friend chose the vegetarian pasta. As our orders came, she was served a pasta dish full of seafood. Pointing out the mixup led to her being yelled at, in Italian by the server, claiming that it was what she ordered and explaining to her aggressively things we did not understand. They cooked the proper dish for her and our dinner continued as if nothing happened. The next issue occurred when paying. Being a group of five and it being the end of service, we asked to split the bill, thing that our server did not want to do. A different server stepped in and did split the bill for us. Even though splitting the bill was more time consuming, no other tables were waiting to pay at that time. The server in charge of making us pay was very polite and made sure to get everything right. The server that had helped us at our table however was just standing behind the counter complaining to his coworkers about us and kept sighing. Once the last of us went to pay, the server threw his service towel in the air and dramatically shouted "Scandalo". This was the last straw for me. I do understand the long tiring shifts a waiter can be put through but the way this adult reacted was disproportioned, rude and honestly quite stressful for a group of five teenage girls only wanting to split a bill.

All of this story was such a shame, I would've loved to give this restaurant more stars as the food and setting were good. The pasta was perfectly cooked and sauces were delicious! The service here however completely ruined...

Ero davvero a disagio!

Spend two whole days here. €30 for the day is expensive but high season on the beach makes it well worth it. The staff were very helpful unlike some of the others bed places we went to. Seasonal renters are in front so yes you do get put behind but that was okay. The life guard were always helpful and smiley and accommodating with lilos and sups. Ate at the bar one of the days and it was delicious. Cheap and delicious. Paid by card for everything whether it was a bottle of water, the meal or ice cream with no complaints. Toilets and showers were fine. Looked at the reviews thinking they would all be good after the service we got and was surprised so decided to put a review in. Really...

Bagni Lido in Camogli was our lunch stop during a cruise ship excursion, and it was a delightful experience. They served a thin, layered dish—almost like a thousand-layered pancake—absolutely packed with cheese, which was heavenly. The pesto pasta was rich, flavorful, and truly one of the best we’ve tried. For dessert, we enjoyed a refreshing lemony gelato drink that was the perfect finish to the meal. Service was friendly and attentive, and the location right in front of the gorgeous Camogli waterfront made it even more memorable. The only thing to note is that there’s no AC, but with the sea breeze and view, it was still a wonderful spot.

After my rotund victory in the 2013 Schweizer Literatur price, I decided to drive down from lake Lugano (where the humble abode of yours truly is located) to get some beach time and Euromaxx to the max. To my great surprise, my old friend (let’s call him SK) was also there, Euromaxxed out already. He told me about his latest readings on the so-called Staatsrason (which dates back to the 16th century! go figure) and we had some drinkys. Good times
