We booked this place for my birthday 11/8/25. Its not easy for me to really give a negative review as I worked in hospitality and I know there are sometimes struggles, sometimes the chef is in a bad mood, sometimes the products are bad quality. BUT WHAT I CANT STAND IN A RESTAURANT - is when something is wrong and you ask the staff/kitchen to correct it- cause it can happen- you get ATTITUDE FROM THEM INSTEAD OF “I am sorry, let me make you another dish or something”. What happened here - I went with family for a nice dinner- ordered some Fried fish and some side vegetables. Prices arent cheap- mind you. I get my order- nothing spectacular - just 5 pieces of small fried fish and some oily tasteless veggies on the side. Fine. Its what it is. But when I bite into the fish - a smell of “off” and “gone bad” from the fried fish. Really bad. I thought i ll let the owner know and maybe he can correct it- you know? It can happen -especially with fish or chicken- these go bad really fast. But to my surprise- instead of “I m sorry sir, let me get you another plate” I got a really bad attitude “you dont know cod, this is how cod is- nothing wrong with it”. Everybody smelt the fish, including the server, the chef and owners wife- they all said -Yes, something is not right with it” but the owner kept on saying the opposite. Probably because he was to embarrassed to admit it in front of all the guests -by now it was a full drama scene- Italian style. We asked for the bill and left immediately. They did take it off the menu so I didnt pay for the fish but thats not the point. And please do not expect any fine cuisine or any nice presentation. Food may not be that terrible but it looks awful on the plates too. And giving the prices, on the higher end- one would expect a better service. No. Never again. Felt sick and had my birthday ruined. Went for a Foccacia restaurant instead and the night was saved. But “CUCU” in Camogli- No. you need to do better. Very disappointed. Not worth the hype or reputation. Avoid to avoid disappointment. Im really sorry that I had to write this. But off fish and or off chicken - improperly cooked or stored can cause serious health issues to someone with a lower immunity or with prior health...

Ate here on my last day in Camogli after spending 10 days in the city. Been passing by the restaurant several times and it was always packed, so my expectations were high. Looking at the menu, that was mostly dishes containing seafood, with relatively expensive prices (between 12-30 euros), I also thought that the food experience would match the price and expectations and be something out of the ordinary. To my surprise, and the 4 others eating with me, all dishes was an utter disappointment. We were served unripe tomatoes with buratta and anjovies, with a presentation much more comparable with a low level restaurant. The rest of the dishes were not any better. A pasta that when presented sounded amazing, tasting nothing but fish, in a bad way. I could keep on going but it was all the same. Sorry Cucu, but we did not have a good experience. I would like to add credit to the staff, whom were all really friendly, presenting the food very well and giving the restaurant a...

My friends, my wife and I ate at cucu after a 11 day holiday in Camogli. A wonderful town with great food. This was not the case for Cucu. The service was on point. Great service. My wife (that does not eat red meat) took a ravioli that was filled with minced meet but was presented as a ravioli with parmesan and olive oil. Me and my friends diveded 4 dishes. Dish no 1. Tomato with borata. The borata was good but the tomato was unripe. Dish no 2. Ravioli with minched meat. We were discussing by our selves if this was canned tuna. This was minced meat that was raw. Dish no 3. Grilled squid was allright! Dish no 4. Spaghetti with fish rum that was topped with an egg. This was the worst thing I have ever had. The dish tasted like pasta with canned pet food. My wife then got in a dish with fishsup, this was like sipping salt water from the ocean. I can not belive that this fine dining restaurant have 5...

Cute local spot located 1 block away from the main street. I came here for the pesto lasagna and I'm so glad I did. I could have eaten 3 of those plates. I wiped the plate clean with the foccaccia to the point where the waiter commented "wow maam you did a great job!" I didn’t know whether or not I should be embarrassed or flattered. I also had the bis of tuna and squid- cooked 2 different ways. This was recommended by the waiter but I really was not impressed. The tuna was a bit overcooked and the squid tasted a bit fishy. Regardless, the pesto lasagna was so mindblowingly amazing that I'd still rate this 4.5 stars for the overall experience. Service was fantastic as well and I was often asked if I wanted anything else. There is outside seating as well. I love how the menu is handwritten! Tons of character.

Bravi!!!
