Cantine Bosca — Attraction in Canelli

We were visiting this area briefly and were really fortunate to find out that an English tour (free of charge!) would take place the next day. I made a reservation from the link on Google maps - very convenient! The tour was fascinating, the place is beautiful and unique and all the music, lights and video presentation added a really nice touch. The guide Alice was enthusiastic, artistic and spoke very good English. It felt more like a captivating show than a tour. There was degustation at the end and we ended up buying several bottles of delicious "Madame Bosca". But this place is usually not open to the public and you can only get in with a tour. Actually, we came 40 min early and couldn't even locate it since there is no sign! The door opens about 20 minutes before...

The cellars are beautiful but the tour is a bit "too much of a show" with the videos and loud music. Our guide was also a girl without passion or enthusiasm. It seems she was repeating something she learnt by heart, a script basically. So boring. The wine tasting at the end was also disappointing. The Metodo Classico was an open bottle that lost all its perlage and wasn't cold enough. The glasses are awful flutes. Better to use nicer flutes and then dont allow people to take them home, rather than gifting something extremely bad quality. The sparkletini is impossible to comment, just a commercial twist. I guess quantity (around 10/12 millions bottles produced every year) doesn't...

Cattedrali sotterranee molto belle, ben illuminate, arricchita di diversi supporti audiovisivi. La storia della cantina è molto lunga e motivo di vanto, soprattutto perchè è sempre la stessa famiglia a gestirla. Purtroppo però la parte degustativa ha lasciato MOLTO a desiderare: i prodotti offerti sono stati il "millegiorni" metodo classico, il Piemonte rosé e lo sparkletini, serviti da un alpino che purtroppo non ha saputo descrivere nel dettaglio quello che stava servendo. Inoltre, tutto servito in piedi, con delle schiacciatine confezionate, credo che pregiudichi l'esperienza, e non poco. Per quanto riguarda i vini, il mio parere è stato abbastanza freddo: ho trovato il millegiorni un po anonimo: servito nel flute, non si apprezzano i profumi, ammesso che ce ne siano, e io non ho sentito granché. Secondo me era anche un filo troppo caldo. Il Piemonte rosé (anche se non mi sembrava neanche rosé,al colore) mi è parso beverino, facile, buono per un aperitivo senza pretese. Lo sparkletini non l'ho assaggiato,non amo i vini troppo dolci. Mi ripeto, secondo me la degustazione fatta così, a mo di sagra di paese, ha svilito molto l'esperienza. Considerando che l'azienda mi sembra molto competente in ambito di marketing e packaging, mi stupisce che abbia dato così poca importanza a questa parte della visita.
