La Spezia was one of our favourite places on our cruise around the Adriatic. We visited Pisa (day 2) and the local town (day 1). The weather was inclement and we took the trolley bus on the 35 minute ride around the town. It goes to all the main attractions in La Spezia. If you have limited walking capacity it’s a great way to “cherry pick” the main sights. We ended up singing “Volare” at the top of our voices while looking out over the valley while at the top of the steepest hill. It’s one of the most endearing memories of our trip.

The free shuttle from cruise dock to port terminal is good. We also found a bus tour for Florence and Pisa with reasonable price. Forgot to mention, there is a e-booth to get train ticket too.

This tapas bar was recommended by our hotel although we had earmarked it as worth a visit. There was a bit of a queue outside but as we indicated we would be happy to sit at the bar we didn't have to wait long. The tapas were absolutely delicious and such a variety to please all tastes. It's not the cheapest establishment, we spent 70 euros for two and that included 6 glasses of wine which in hindsight would have been cheaper by the bottle, but for Barcelona centre that's not a bad price. Within 5 mins walk of Plaza Catalunya and our hotel, thoroughly...

Recently left on a celebrity cruise from this port. I don't know if it was just Celebrities processes but it was chaotic and long. The lines didn't make any sense, they separated them, wrapped them around and then they merged again. Even those folks with Suites were stuck in the long lines for security.
