Azienda Vinicola Gioia al negro — Attraction in Lagonegro

We visited this shop before Covid. My grandmother is originally from a small town near Lagonegro, and for many years we bought wine from here. My husband, who is British, absolutely fell in love with this shop — in the past he bought many bottles and litres of wine, enjoying the variety of grapes and flavours.

Today, while I was in Lagonegro on my way back to Naples, my husband asked me to pick up some wines. I was excited to visit this place again after such a long time, and I remembered the owner as being really lovely. We haven’t been to Lagonegro since before Covid.

I arrived at the shop at 9:30. Another lady was also waiting outside. There was a sign saying “Torno subito” (“Back soon”) with a phone number. We waited about 10–15 minutes. I then decided to call the number to get more information, as I was travelling back to Naples. The other lady had already tried calling a couple of times, and I also made two attempts.

When the man answered, he was extremely rude. He shouted at me, saying he was working and couldn’t be disturbed, then hung up on me. The behaviour was absolutely unacceptable — customers, especially tourists, should never be treated this way.

I left without buying anything. I would suggest they update their opening times and remove the phone number if they do not want to be contacted. I was really disappointed by the whole experience and, sadly, cannot recommend this shop if this is how they choose to...

Professionalità, cortesia e simpatia dei titolari Domenico, Emiliano, Mariangela, taglieri prelibati dal sapore tutto lucano, egregiamente preparati, scelta dei vini di loro produzione che  stupiscono per  qualità e personalità. Tutto in un ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo .... Fare una sosta in questo locale ne vale veramente la pena ! Noi ci torneremo di sicuro...

Salve, ho organizzato un'apericena per il mio Compleanno presso questo locale che è riuscito benissimo grazie alla disponibilità del gestore, il Sig.Domenico, attento alla presentazione dei piatti e cortese.Ottimi i dolci fatti in casa. Ambiente accogliente e curato nel dettaglio, pulito e ordinato. Wine store...
