Milan has two world famous cathedrals - il Duomo and the San Siro. As I approached the stadium I couldn't help but think of Italia 90, Copa Mundials, Diego Maradona, that West Germany team, Toto Scillaci, Arrigo Sacchi's remarkable Milan team- there's plaques on the wall looming over you of famous European triumphs. Van Basten, Gullit, Baresi, Maldini cascading through my mind. Then the other side jumps in. The Milan derby, Fachetti, Zenga, Adriano, Milito's unexpected goal scoring feats, Eto'o, R9. Even the stadium itself - Giuseppe Meazza. This stadium's unique architecture evokes the history of football - coming to watch a game here, is a pilgrimage. I felt some reverence after passing the final wall when the square in front of the stadium opened out before me, having approached on foot from near the Lotto metro. The famous curving towers and four post roof, open on one side allowing a glimpse of the lighting array hanging from the ceiling. Daring those game enough to step forward and prove they are worthy. I couldn't help but smile. If you don't remember that AC Milan was founded in 1899 by the time you leave Milan, you must have had a great hotel. The stadium is huge. I have been to the Maracanã in Brasil, the Azteca in Mexico City and this has that same sense of physicality. It is a colossus, an imposing venue that overwhelms you. I bought a ticket to AC Milan vs Roma from footballtickets.net and it all was fine, just printed out the ticket PDF at the hotel and scanned it at the gate. Inside an hour before kickoff and the mood slowly built up. 15 mins to go and the away fans were singing. By kick-off it was a packed house, the Curva Sud in fine voice, huge flags dwarfing their owners, billowing out like sails - a red and black navy going to war. The pressure on the players is unforgiving. The expectations are immense. The fans are knowledgeable, they applaud that bit extra - not just what they all can do on a Sunday afternoon. You play on this hallowed turf because you are better than the rest of us. We come to watch what we could not. Then, suddenly the wall of silence is broken - the ball moves faster this time, the goal opens up and there's half a second before he hits it... HOOOOOO AAAAAAAAAHHH. A wall of sound crashes down on the away fans. They struggle underwater, until the wave subsides. An unforgettable experience if you're a football fan and a Milan win to top it all off. I could still hear the singing as I walked back to the hotel.

Our family recently visited the iconic San Siro Stadium, and despite the hefty entrance fee of approximately 88 EUR, the experience proved to be a thrilling adventure, especially for my football enthusiast son. As someone who isn't a die-hard football fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer grandeur of the stadium. The aura and history that permeate the venue are palpable, making it an impressive sight for even those less inclined towards the sport. However, the real magic happened for my 10-year-old son, who was practically in heaven exploring the home of some of football's greatest legends. The guided tour, though not overly extensive, provided interesting insights into the stadium's rich history and showcased key areas, including the player locker rooms and the pitch itself. Our guide was knowledgeable and added a personal touch to the experience, making it engaging for both adults and kids. While the overall visit was well worth it, one aspect that left a slightly bitter taste was the expensive merchandise in the stadium shop. It's no surprise that sports memorabilia can be pricey, but the costs here felt notably steep. Families should be prepared for the temptation of indulging in fan gear but be cautious of the dent it might make in your wallet. In conclusion, San Siro Stadium is undeniably a must-visit for football enthusiasts and even those with a casual interest in the sport. The awe-inspiring atmosphere and the sheer magnitude of the venue make it a memorable experience for the whole family. Despite the high entrance fee and pricey merchandise, the joy it brought to my son made it a worthwhile outing that we'll remember for years to come

A Night of Football Glory at the San Siro The San Siro stadium in Milan is a legendary venue, and witnessing AC Milan take on Brugge there was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was electric, with passionate fans creating a cacophony of noise that reverberated around the stands. The stadium itself is an imposing structure, a testament to the rich history of Italian football. The game itself was a thrilling encounter, with both teams displaying skill and determination. AC Milan ultimately emerged victorious, sending the home crowd into raptures. The roar of the crowd as the final whistle blew was spine-tingling, a moment that will stay with me forever. The San Siro is more than just a stadium; it's a cathedral of football, a place where history is made and legends are born. If you're a fan of the beautiful game, a visit to this iconic venue is an absolute must. Highlights: * The electric atmosphere created by the passionate fans * The impressive architecture of the stadium * The thrilling match between AC Milan and Brugge * The unforgettable experience of witnessing a historic victory Overall: Attending a match at the San Siro is a bucket-list experience for any football fan. The combination of the passionate fans, the historic stadium, and the thrilling football on display creates an atmosphere that is unmatched anywhere else in the world. I highly recommend a visit to this iconic venue.

I'm not a soccer fan, but my brother is. So we went and bought tickets for a tour. We tried to book these online but couldn't manage. Luckily it was a rainy day, off season and not very busy so we could get tickets almost immediately at the box office. I imagine that might be different on nicer days during busier months. A tourguide will fetch you at the entrance and will provide you with a tour in several different languages all at once. You get some time in the arena musea and a tour through some areas you'd normally never be able to visit. The guide was cheerful, knowledgeable and happy to answer any additional questions. Even I enjoyed myself, haha. Though I would recommend it mostly for fans of ACM or Inter. At the end of the tour just beyond the shop is a small box café that serves some prepackaged meals. It's all right if you want a quick bite. There should also be an actual café at the entrance, but I'm not sure if it was open. Tours start every half hour, so you can also grab some coffee there and just hitch along the next tour.

San Siro. It is an engineering behemoth; a structural beast with a lot of sports history. On the outside it towers over you. I had a few hours before my flight, and took a BikeMi to the nearest station. (There are no close BikeMil stations to the Stadium. There is a Metro Station that is not too far away, but definitely a walk.) I arrived just in time for the last stadium tour. It cost €35 and is about one hour long. The museum is underwhelming, just a bunch of jerseys and some memorabilia for both Milan and Inter. There is an Italy Football museum inside the stadium, where you will end the tour. Before getting to the pitch, you will tour the Milan and Inter rooms. It's pretty neat to see the difference between the two. You can't walk onto the pitch, but will get close to it, on that level. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're a fan of either team, or like structures and buildings like I do. There is a gift shop at the end of the tour where you can get all the gear you need.

Visited San siro whilst on a trip to Milan and wanted to see this legendary status stadium. The Stadium is very imposing and amazing to see. You can understand why it has the status that it does. However the stadium tour has much to be desired. You feel that you are rushed through very quickly and don't get to enjoy the experience, I much prefer other stadium tours such as the Emirates where you have an audio guide and you can walk through at your own pace and really take in the moment. I would also say your restricted to what you see, the changing rooms (AC & Inter) but not away rooms, then down the tunnel to the pitch, up to one stand and then the tour is over really. You feel like there is a lot that's missed out. However the tour guides speak Italian and English and are very knowledgeable. If you would like to see the stadium and pitch it is great but if you want an in depth view of the stadium, this won't fulfill those needs.
