Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci — Attraction in Prato

It was my first ever visit at Centro Pecci, i was literally mind blowed. It is the second contemporary hub ever opened in Italy, careful it is not a gallery or a museum but it is much more. Please read online for more info.

The general manager, Stefano, gave us a tour showing the different areas of the exhibition that has an insane in-depth study of the details from architecture, lights exposition to setting and last the outstanding selection of artists and works.

The tour and the level of the presentation was far above any expectations, emotional and in the same time entertaining product of a very talented and knowledgeable GM.

I will surely come back. It is a must see stop / designation for contemporary art enthusiast and collectors as...

The building itself is very impressive. Maybe I got there on a bad day but the exhibits were seriously dated, spectacularly academic and non visual. Ho visitato negli anni diverse volte il museo Pecci e sono rimasto sempre soddisfatto delle visite fatte e dei diversi allestimenti presentati. Comodamente raggiungibile con la linea Blu Repubblica/Maliseti (avvertenza: dopo il trasferimento di proprietà ad Autolinee Toscane non sono più sicuro che si chiamino ancora così le linee) che portano praticamente alla pensilina dinanzi al museo. Il prezzo del biglietto, essendo studente, per me è sempre stato vantaggioso - il prezzo pieno merita se si è realmente interessati (meno se è una visita casual). Normalmente le esposizioni permanenti e temporanee si trovano al primo piano, dove invece al piano terra vi è la biglietteria e un bookshop; se si è affamati o assetati vi è inoltre una caffetteria-bistrot. Il personale del museo con cui ho avuto modo di parlare è sempre stato cordiale e disponibile. Le varie esposizioni mi hanno spesso interessato, oltre che offrirmi diversi spunti di riflessione su numerose tematiche passate e odierne, pur trovando talvolta opere che non comprendevo al 100% (o forse la spiegazione sulla targhetta non era esaustiva).
