We dropped by on a Wednesday in early March at about 500 pm, and we were so fortunate to find that Karine, a volunteer guide, was available to do a tour for the two of us! The way it works is this is a private collection of all things to do with this amazing fruit, the bergamot, by a man who spent 30 years putting it together. You pay 2 euros a person to wander through the collection on your own. Or, you have the tour with a volunteer like Karine, and then you make a donation afterward of what you felt it was worth. Trust me - do the tour. There is so much to learn! It was simply amazing and surprised us by being a highlight of our trip to Reggio Calabria. It is fascinating to learn the role that this regional fruit has played in health care, perfumes, and the local economy. And to think that it only grows here but has worldwide impact. What a great collection of artifacts, and Carine brings it all to life. Afterwards, there are authentic Bergamot orange products available for purchase at very reasonable prices. Can't stress enough that you must do this...

The museum is an amazing place for anyone who would like to learn the very interesting history of bergamot industry. Bergamot essential oil is one of the most famous products that Calabria is known for, however there are or have been historically many other usages of the fruit. You can learn all the details and see examples during the museum tour (explained in very good English, which is not a standard in the region). We were also invited to try for free a bergamot flavoured granita - very tasty! Our guide was very kind and helpful and the gift shop had multiple bergamot-themed items for souvenirs or gifts (essential oil, food condiments, cosmetics), everything certified and with reasonable prices. Overall, great experience. Important thing to note, there are no tickets as the place is run by volunteers. You just leave a tip in the box on your leave,...

Really cool little museum! Lots of interesting info about the history of bergamot, and you can listen to everything on your phone through their audio guide, which is super handy. You also get to try some bergamot-based food and there’s a shop with so many great things - perfumes, honey, oils, and more. The staff are genuinely friendly and happy to chat, which makes the visit even nicer. It's free to enter, but you can leave a donation if you'd like. Definitely worth stopping by if you're in Reggio Calabria!

Self-proclaimed bergamot-lovers who raise and share with the tradition and culture on bergamot cultivation in southern Calabria and all the assets this fruit brings. Just asking for any kind of donation, but definitely need a support from local or national authorities! Lot of information given by the curator. You will learn how it was harvested, find historical utensils, see the products based on bergamot oil or bergamot juice and many more. A chance to buy a souvenir or local product.

Great private exhibition about history and production of bergamot products. Exhibition consist pictures, old machinery, historical products and vessels related to bergamot oil. Short guided tour (simple English or Italian) is offered by curator. Tickets cost 3EUR per person. Totally worth seeing. After visit you could buy products made from bergamot. I recommend taking a look into book where whole variety of possible products from bergamot is presented.
