A very beautiful mosque. Any Muslim who visits St. Peter's Basilica, the Vatican, and all other temples/churches, etc., but skips his own place of worship should be ashamed. Even for non-Muslims, it is definitely worth a look. A few facts about the mosque: This mosque is one of the largest mosques outside of Islamic countries. It can accommodate up to 2,500 worshippers and was built in 1997. My request to those living in Rome and all other Muslims: Please do not let such a beautiful place fall into disrepair. This is not only a great sin but also sad for those who worked so hard to achieve this. Try to visit the mosque as often as possible, maintain it, and pray there. Thank you/Grazie

The Mosque of Rome (Italian: Moschea di Roma) is the largest mosque in Italy. It has an area of 30,000 m2 (320,000 sq ft) and can accommodate 12,000 people. The building is located in the Acqua Acetosa area, at the foot of the Monti Parioli, north of the city. As well as being the city’s mosque it is the seat of the Centro Culturale Islamico d’Italia (the Italian Islamic Cultural Centre). In addition to being a meeting place for religious activities, it provides cultural and social services variously connecting Muslims together. It also holds wedding ceremonies, funeral services, exegesis, conventions, and other related events.

Mosque itself (main hall) is 5 out of 5. Very pretty, spacious and peaceful. Apart from it it's very confusing for someone who was there for the first time, there were no signs and no one was being helpful. The Imaam fled right away after he finished the prayer, not like in our mosque where he waits and takes care of the mosque and its brothers and sisters. Bathroom seemed to be together for both genders for some reason with no towels. No helpful signs where to go next (plus where's the women's section). After a tough time figuring out where to go next by ourselves we were unpleasantly surprised we have to go outside to then go to the actual praying hall (which can break wudhu as at the time we visited it was raining very heavily). To perform ghusl (if needed) is not possible as there's no light for the showers. Where are the women toilets? Where is the women bathroom?? One door into the prayer hall was even baricated. The carpets seemes to be never cleaned, as someone with allergies this was very uncomfortable.

Lastly, we found a group of people (one of them had shorts with exposed knees) whom we asked for directions, they replied they don't speak English (which is understandable), opened up Google Translate but within a second the guy locked his phone back and the whole group walked out of the hall not helping us or even trying to. They left us alone in there. While we were praying in the small prayer hall the light turned off out of nowhere. No lightswitch found or motion sensor. The library is very poor in both halls since there were only Qur'ans, no other literature. After we discovered the big praying hall we ran into the same group - the women were posing in style "draw me like one of the French girls" and the men were taking pictures of them there which is really disrespectful! Seriously, are you even muslims???

The only positive thing for this disappointing trip was the man at the entrance who helped us where's the washing room and tried to call us a taxi even though he didn't speak English. May...

This mosque is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The architecture and space is incredible.

I came from Canada, visiting Italy and unfortunately someone in a chair in the parking lot that works there did not want to let us in. I am a Muslim hijabi and my husband is Muslim, he was wearing shorts that covered his knees but he was told that he is “in no condition to enter”. I had to convince him and ask to allow us for the sake of Allah. He told us which door to enter from and said my husband can see it but not pray (after some convincing) and I went downstairs to make wuduu and the door was locked. I did not feel welcomed and felt like he was doing us a solid to allow us to go up the outdoor stairs to go inside and see it.

It’s the house of Allah and no one is to judge if we can enter or not especially if we are visibly Muslim and practicing. It was so intimidating to have someone in a large lot stand up and interview us before entering. Please for the sake of Allah, just be more easy going. This is only going to deter people from entering the mosque.

Anyways we paid a lot for the Uber there and back only to spend 10 min there and...

Very disappointing. Not for the mosque, but for the people running it which is possibly the worst management and secretary I’ve ever had to deal with.

Since 2020 I tried to have my niqah done here for bureaucracy. It’s very hard to reach out to the secretary and when they do reply they give you the most unhelpful response. They keep postponing the niqah date until now it’s 2022 - 2 years later. After 2 years waiting, I have ran out of patience.

I’ve notified them we need to get it done urgently as we are moving abroad soon but they continued pushing back the dates. I now have to leave the country in 2 weeks and they have kept us on the hook for years.

This is the biggest mosque in Europe and they only have one imam to deal with the niqah. Secretary cancelled our appointment at the very last minute and ghosted us for weeks.

It was a nightmare, a purgatory. I do not recommend. If you need to get your niqah/solemnization done for bureaucracy purpose avoid...
