It is a nice beach, and it’s worth visiting if you’re within a reasonable driving distance from it. But it’s not as spectacular as the hype might have you believe. We visited on a Monday in August and got to the beach at around 9AM. Metered parking close to the beach was easy to find but expensive at €12 for the day. Finding a spot on the beach wasn’t too bad (we brought our own umbrellas etc) but any later than 9AM and you can forget about getting anywhere near the shore. The sea was a nice colour and it was warm - but it wasn’t clear until you get out beyond the first 10m or so. There’s also a fair amount of litter about - cigarette ends, receipts, etc (a general problem in Sicily it seems). We hired a pedalo for €20/hr and that was great - because it allowed us to get out beyond the mass of people to where the sea was deep and clear. As to be expected at this time of year it was exceptionally busy - literally top to toe on the free parts of the beach. In summary, worth a visit - but having been and checked it off the list I wouldn’t go back (whereas I would go back to Stintino in Sardinia in a heartbeat - despite it also being exceptionally busy!)

La spiaggia di San Vito Lo Capo è un autentico gioiello della Sicilia occidentale, spesso paragonata alle località caraibiche per la sua straordinaria bellezza. Una distesa di sabbia bianca e finissima si estende per circa 3 km, bagnata da un mare turchese e trasparente che degrada dolcemente. È la meta ideale per famiglie con bambini, coppie in cerca di relax e amanti del mare. Cosa offre: • Mare cristallino, calmo e pulito, perfetto per nuotare e fare snorkeling. • Sabbia soffice e chiara, comoda anche per chi vuole prendere il sole o giocare con i più piccoli. • Stabilimenti balneari attrezzati con lettini, ombrelloni, docce, servizi igienici e bar. • Tratti di spiaggia libera ben tenuti. • Accesso facile dal centro del paese, con ampia disponibilità di parcheggio nei dintorni. Consigli utili: • I mesi ideali per visitarla sono giugno e settembre, quando il clima è perfetto e la spiaggia è meno affollata. • In luglio e agosto, la spiaggia può essere molto frequentata: è consigliabile arrivare al mattino presto. • A settembre si svolge il celebre Cous Cous Fest, un evento gastronomico e culturale di richiamo internazionale. Dintorni da non perdere: • La Riserva Naturale dello Zingaro, con sentieri costieri e calette incontaminate. • Monte Cofano, per escursioni panoramiche. • Il borgo di San Vito Lo Capo, con le sue case bianche in stile mediterraneo, ristoranti tipici e atmosfera rilassata. Conclusione: La spiaggia di San Vito Lo Capo è una delle mete balneari più affascinanti d’Italia. Che si cerchi un luogo per rilassarsi, praticare attività in mare o esplorare la natura siciliana, questa località saprà regalare un’esperienza indimenticabile.

This is a great beach. The water is like glass, super clear and you can see the fish swimming around you. It's not that deep so great for walking out to cool off after a few hours on the loungers. There isn't any drink services so keep that in mind if you go and make sure you go prepare. Life guards are on duty so feels very safe. Lastly the water temperature was great, not too cold and easy to get used to after five minutes of swimming. This is the best beach we've visited during our road trip around Sicily.

La Spiaggia di San Vito Lo Capo è una delle più affascinanti e iconiche località balneari della Sicilia. Insomma, la Spiaggia di San Vito Lo Capo è un vero e proprio paradiso terrestre, in cui natura, storia e ospitalità si fondono in un'esperienza unica e indimenticabile. Un luogo in cui lasciarsi incantare dalla bellezza del Mediterraneo, immergersi nella cultura locale e godere di momenti di assoluto relax e serenità. Un vero gioiello della Sicilia, da visitare almeno una volta nella vita.

San Vito Lo Capo is a unique, Caribbean-like beach with azure water and (some times not so) gentle waves. The beach has a gradual slope, making it easy to access the water. There is also a beautiful view of the nearby mountain. Additionally, there are several nearby places where you can enjoy a meal or a drink (if you’re not in a swimsuit). However, there are some limitations. It is far from Trapani or Palermo by bus, it can be very crowded, and there are algae present at the entrance to the water.

Wonderful sandy beach and clear turquoise water! It is packed with umbrellas in these summer days. You look quite odd if you don’t rent umbrella and come only with just your own towel. We stayed in the house 5 min from the beach and we don’t like lying on the beach thus we came for a swim and returned back home. Splendid sea for swimming, the water is shallow only first few meters. The town itself is also very nice with many restaurants, bars etc., mostly located at or near Via Savoia.
