BAIA AZZURRA — Attraction in Sperlonga

Worst dining experience during our week in Italy. The bruschetta was literally inedible. It was just a hard BRICK of stale bread covered with tomatoes, olive oil, & red onion (those parts were good at least) and a gross blob of sour mozzarella. We literally couldn’t cut the bread with a knife and fork and almost broke a tooth trying to bite it. The calamari was fine— as was the spaghetti with seafood— but neither were worth the price. The loud music seemed fun at first but grated on our nerves after an hour. We asked about cabana prices and were first told 40 euros (!!!!!) but when we started to walk away were told 20 instead. Beautiful lido in Sperlonga, perfect if you’re looking for a more luxurious beach experience. Prices range between €40 and €80 per day, but it’s worth it for the comfort and atmosphere. The straw tents are a brilliant idea, larger than the usual umbrellas and offering excellent sun protection. You really feel like you’re in your own private cocoon, relaxing by the sea. There are facilities and there’s a bar and restaurant close by if you need anything without having to go far. Andiamo a sentire un gruppo musicale in questo lido. Ci danno il menù e prendiamo due granite del costo di € 2,50 l'una. Quando andiamo a pagare, però, ci chiedono ben 30 euro. La spiegazione? Essendo una serata musicale, la prima consumazione costava 15 euro, sia che si trattasse di un cocktail che di una bottiglietta d'acqua. Peccato che questa piccola ma fondamentale informazione non fosse scritta da nessuna parte: non sul menù, non sulla locandina della serata, non su qualche cartello affisso in loco, né ci è stata data verbalmente dai camerieri. Secondo i gestori, l'informazione era ben visibile sulla pagina Instagram, ma ciò non è vero in quanto questa cosa è scritta solo su un post di alcune settimane fa e comunque non sul post riferito al gruppo di nostro interesse. Nonostante ciò, la tizia alla cassa pretendeva che pagassimo queste 15 euro a granita in quanto, cito testualmente, "questi [i musicisti] chi li paga?". Il gestore inoltre mi chiede "dove avete parcheggiato?" alludendo al fatto che avessimo usufruito del parcheggio privato del lido in maniera gratuita, anche se non era così.
