Trieste, May 2023 I have had the privilege of coming back to my splendid native region for the last few months. Apart from being struck, once again, by its beauty as a city and its surrounding areas, Trieste offers a lot to do and see to the art lover, to the curious and to the adventurous, not to mention to the buongustaio. The Palazzo degli Incanti, while I was here, offered exhibitions by Banksi, Dave La Chapelle; the Revoltella museum had great shows by the Macchiaioli, Mirò, apart from showing what it always does, which includes an interesting upper floors full of contemporary art. Don't forget the opulent Miramare castle, with its wonderful grounds and the Duino castle that Rilke's memory always keeps alive Every first Sunday of the month municipal museums'...
Read moreI went to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition and it was quite disappointing... Only one painting by Frida, then mainly photos of her and her works along with some main historical facts... The costume part was very artificial and of poor quality. I would rather call it an educational showcase for children and still a poor one, even if it was for free... Definitely not worth €14, especially considering that, for example, Louvre costs around the same.... We...
Read moreBanksy exhibition. I loved it. Sea-side location on Trieste Riva. Parking was a bit of an issue, but you get to enjoy the Adriatic sea. Well, nearby there's a port, but there were no big ships there. The venue is just the right size. Not to big, so you don't think about renting a bike. Very good organization. Surprisingly, the place was not too crowdy. Unfortunately, if you get tired, there's not enough...
