Parco Bucci — Attraction in Unione della Romagna Faentina

One of the main park of Faenza, the green heaven of the city.

The Park has been built on the once much larger Piazza d’armi, whom it’s had been used as military training in the early 1900.

During the ’60 it has been used to keep herd of horses.

In the ’70 they begin to build the park we know today, with the precious help of the naturalist and nurseryman Cesare Gallegati and the famous botanist and wildlife expert Roberto Bucci whom the park is named after.

The park is eight hectares wide, and the richness of the flora, fauna and the presence of the lakes made the park so characteristic.

It has a great deal of exotic plants (due to the ’60 trend) the park give a special place and care to the indigenous species of the Faenza area (i.e. little oak wood on the north side, a group of hornbeam almost everywhere), This tell us that Dr. Gallegati was a man ahed of our time.

The beauty of isolated dots of plants are indeed exalted by the extension of the great lawn that characterize this park.

Another dominant element is the water, the two lakes are connected by a little creek, little islands and little bridges.

The fauna is diversify, we count a large number of ducks and swan as well as many bunnies you can count.

Il più bel parco cittadino nella zona, ottimo da visitare con bambini, c'è un area giochi, laghetto con canali, anatre, oche, cigni, tartarughe, pesci, pavoni e uccelli insoliti, conigli, scoiattoli.. peccato che chi l9 gestisce pensi poco agli esseri umani, ci sono pochissime panchine, mal distribuite e spesso posizionate in maniera poco furba al sole.. mi è stato ora detto che ci sono bagni pubblici vicino ingresso principale, ci credo, peccato che il 13 giugno 2020 mio figlio di 6 anni poggiando la mano su una staccionata che delimitava il laghetto l'ha poggiata inavvertitamente su una cacca di animale, ho spiegato la situazione alle persone nella guardiola all'ingresso dicendo che avevo bisogno di una fontana per lavarlo, ma nonostante le mie insistenze e spiegazioni mi è stato detto un maniera poco cortese che non c'erano (e no che non si potevano usare..) e che dovevo uscire, sono dovuto uscire fuori dal parco vagando sotto il sole cocente alla ricerca di un rubinetto con mio figlio con la mano imbrattata di cacca.. poi dopo averne trovata una e essere rientrato nel parco ho scoperto che c'era una fontana all'interno a pochi metri vicino all'area giochi delimitata da nastro bianco-rosso e ora che c'erano anche i bagni pubblici proprio dietro la guardiola all'ingresso! Capisco le regole e i divieti per il covid-19 ma un po' di buon senso vista la situazione non guastava! siamo persone pensanti o stupide macchine programmate?! Se non abbiamo queste capacità di discernimento tanto vale mettere computer a lavorare al posto...

I love this place because it has a large variety of animal that the local authorities look after, guinea pigs, varieties of ducks and chickens, different rabbits, peacocks, turkeys, geese, ducks, black and white swans, fish and if you look deeper lots of other little critters
