Upon entering the property, they are a few gentlemen there who apparently as the gatekeepers/security/the money collectors. I suggest asking questions before you pay a cent because they will confuse you. You are allowed to Park your bus or vehicle but AT YOUR OWN RISK. Remove any and all valuables just in case.
From the parking space to the beach is about a 3-5min walk on uneven terrain. There may or may not be another man telling you to pay additional if you have food or Igloos. Apparently food is $1000 and igloos no matter the size are $1000 each as well.
Found a decent spot that had adequate shade and water from a nearby river. We got settled and changed. The food was good as some of us went for seconds and the waitress was pretty friendly and well-mannered.
The beach is small compared to others that I have been too but it was decent for the price so no major complaints there. Because the river and the sea intercepted, the temperature fluctuates between warm and cool at times. PS - If you have beach shoes, wear them because I found 7 seaeggs in the vicinity where adults and children were swimming and walking.
Overall, my experience was okay and if it wasn't for the water, the good food and the polite waitress, I probably would have given this a 1 star. Everyone's experience is different but mine was just a bit sour. You be the judge when and if you visit...

We spent the day at Mahogany Beach to celebrate both my Wife’s and Daughter’s EarthStrong_Birthday
Our visit to Mahogany Beach was nothing short of fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome and supported — especially Kevin “19” at the entrance. He was incredibly attentive and went out of his way to assist our daughter who uses a wheelchair, as well as our elderly father who has limited mobility. His compassion and professionalism stood out and set the tone for the entire day.
The team didn’t hesitate to let us drive all the way down to the beach to drop off and pick up our family members, which made a huge difference in accessibility and comfort. Their care and accommodation made what could have been a challenge into a smooth and enjoyable experience.
And the 500 JMD entry fee includes a beach chair per person — a huge plus and something we really appreciated.
The beach itself is beautiful, clean, and relaxing, with calm waters and a local vibe that’s both peaceful and welcoming. Whether you’re looking for a chill day by the sea or a family-friendly spot with a personal touch, Mahogany Beach is the place to go.
We will definitely return and highly recommend this beach to anyone — especially those travelling with elderly or disabled loved ones. Truly a hidden gem...
Read moreDuring my time in Ocho Rios I went to this beach as well as Pleasure Cove. Mahogany beach is by far my favorite and has exceeded all my expectations. There is a security guard at the front and it cost 500jmd per person to get in (or $5us). Admission comes with chairs to lounge on the shore. We only came with enough cash to get in which was unfortunate at first because we wanted to get some food & drinks at the bar. BUT- they take zelle!! I'm writing this review to share that they take zelle so more people are aware of how accessible everything is at this beach. 5/5, I love it. Cant wait to...
