This hotel was exactly what we were looking for, but not exactly what we were sold. We needed a cheap bed with a good location for our two nights in Ocho Rios, and Silver Seas provided exactly that. The mattresses were on their last legs, though the rooms were clean and the airconditioning was a godsend. The view from our private balcony was absolutely spectacular! This hotel's post on booking websites should be updated to include the hotel's current status, as it could be disappointing to guests who aren't as easy to please as we were. The amenities, such as the pool and restaurant, were closed and the photos of the hotel were definitely taken years ago, in the hotel's prime. Although the restaurant was closed, the hotel was still offering a breakfast and lunch menu, so seating was limited to the reception area or reception balcony (but the view was lovely so this wasn't a huge disappointment). Staff were very friendly and willing to help or chat if needed. Beer fridge was available throughout the night, with Red Stripe being $400JM. We had a problem connecting to the wifi in our room, and only found the wifi to be available in the reception area (which normally would be a problem for us when we are backpacking a country that isn't our own, but this trip we purchased SIM cards so it wasn't a huge concern for us). Overall, we are pleased with the price we paid for the clean, centrally located accommodation we received, but could see how others (or even us on a different type of trip) would be very disappointed if they were planning to utilize the hotel to how it was listed on booking sites, rather than its current reality.

Prepare to be swept away by the enchanting allure of the Silver Seas Hotel in Jamaica. Nestled along the pristine shores of Ocho Rios, this hidden gem beckons travelers seeking a blissful escape. From the moment you arrive, you're enveloped in a sense of tropical tranquility and warm Jamaican hospitality. The charm of the Silver Seas Hotel lies in its effortless blend of laid-back Caribbean vibes and refined elegance. Each room and suite is a sanctuary of comfort and style, adorned with vibrant local artwork and plush furnishings. Whether you choose a cozy garden view room or a spacious oceanfront suite, you'll find yourself immersed in luxury and serenity. Step outside and discover a world of leisure and adventure awaiting you. Lounge by the sparkling infinity pool, where the gentle sea breeze whispers tales of relaxation. Indulge in delectable island cuisine at the hotel's waterfront restaurant, where fresh seafood and exotic flavors tantalize the taste buds. But perhaps the true magic of the Silver Seas Hotel lies in its unparalleled access to Jamaica's natural wonders. From cascading waterfalls to lush rainforests, the hotel serves as the perfect launchpad for exploring the island's enchanting landscapes. Whether you're seeking romance, adventure, or simply a place to unwind, the Silver Seas Hotel in Jamaica offers an unforgettable retreat that will leave you longing to return again and again.

This is an ideal place for a family to vacation, where there is no dependence on wifi which is only accessible in the lobby. The staff does their best to make your stay comfortable as well. The view from the balcony is awesome - I'd go back there for that. It's a view of the ocean and boats carrying tourists sightseeing on the reefs. If as a group you stay there, just ask for adjoining rooms. You will be able to access each other's balconies through a door which can be opened. I think there are plans to let all the rooms get wifi though, but it's a matter of time. My data did help me out though, but I realized I had more opportunity to talk and laugh - precious 💞 moments!

This was the worst hotel experience for myself and family and does not even warrant getting a star. The hotel and it's location has great potential and that's what sad because of what an be done to the property with just the right care and vision, this facility would be awesome. However, the service from the get go was poor. I major in Travel & Tourism and have stayed in all inclusive resorts, villas and the right mix of both, also I have years of experience in Customer Service and Hospitality. This hotel lacked all the above that would have made the experience memorable. Firstly, the photos that are posted online of the hotel are very misleading. Neither did our rooms have the exquisite look it boasted. Our bed base was exposed showing sponge and a wood like brittle padding. We had to use the bath towels we brought with us to cover the pillow cases in my room because they were stained. The bathroom towels were worn and raveled/stringy at the ends nor was there any shower curtain liners in the bath, just the shower curtain which is fabric which was used instead of a liner and was hanging on the inside of the bath. The AC unit apart from being outdated didn't work properly as it barely cooled the room, and the room my cousin stayed in, their AC unit could not be gauged and was constantly on high when used. The bathroom need a thorough cleaning around the pipes and in the bath. The second major issue we had was with a staff member specifically and unfortunately I did not get his name. He was a front desk personnel, the younger of the two who worked at the Front desk. The other gentleman wore glasses and he was hospitable and kind. My family and I had to leave the hotel premises to get breakfast because none was provided though we were informed that we would have gotten complimentary breakfast during the original booking of the hotel and had payed the amount required days in advance. Upon arrival that was when we were told we would not get breakfast though we paid the amount requested for the package my family choose. So we left the morning deciding to have breakfast and stay out the entire day because the facility was not up to par and couldn't fully enjoy it. When we returned, we found out that all 3 room booked by my family was entered into by cleaning staff who did so without our permission or without front desk or management notifying us that this would happen. All our personal items, including travel documents, cash etc were inside. We had not asked for maid/cleaning service nor did we receive any document on arrival that we could fill out to indicate the request for one in our absence. The staff had not contacted any one of us to ask this either or to inform us that persons would go to our rooms and if they should proceed to do so. After realizing this happened my cousin and I went to the front desk to speak with the gentleman and neither did he apologize but was extremely rude and arguing with us. We asked him the question " if we checked our rooms and find items to be missing, who will be held accountable?", he could not answer but instead argued as if we did not have the right as guest to air our concern and disapproval. This was highly unacceptable. Their were so may wrong that its impossible to do in just one review and I know its lengthy already but are deeply dissatisfied by this service. We asked to speak with Management and was told the Manager resides overseas. Even after our checkout several attempts to rectify the problem and to speak with someone in Management has been futile. We have been greatly scammed. Poor service all round. I wish someone would truly manage the property and see its true potential. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The only way the site allowed me to send my review I had to give it a star, which it clearly...

I take my reviews very seriously and I think this is the, worst hotel I have ever stayed in. ||Granted we are only here for one night, thankfully and it was a last minute booking as our other accommodation that we had booked and paid for to stay for 2 weeks. Did not answer our calls when we arrived so we had to find a last minute hotel to sleep in. ||2 adults 2 children aged 14 and 7. ||I’m actually scared to stay in this hotel, it’s not secure at all, front door hardly locks properly and even if locked if you shoved it would easily pop open. ||Bathroom windows have no actual window on it just a shutter which can be easily prised open from the outside. ||On arrival staff were actually quite rude, they have a security guard on the front who was doing absolutely nothing but sit on his phone listening to music. Some random men walked in and the man on front desk told them to leave and Told the security man off. ||The staff were quite rude on arrival it seemed we were more trouble being there than not even though we are paying money and then stated that they would not take card, which meant we had to go out looking for a bank in the middle of the night to try and source cash money. ||Staff also would not write a receipt for us to claim the money back through our insurance. ||We were taken to a room and it is absolutely diabolical, the smell of stale smoke is disgusting. So strong, we have a child with asthma as-well which makes it worst. ||The room is absolutely freezing and no remote from the air con so have to keep switching it off at the wall when it’s too cold and switching it back on at the wall when too hot. ||The bathroom I don’t know how it would pass any inspection, there’s black mould growing up the walls, the knob that switches between shower and bath is broke so 90% of the water comes out of the bath tap and 10% comes out of the shower - whilst your trying to have a shower.||The sink taps are broken and kept falling apart. ||One of the balcony doors doesn’t unlock is broken. ||There were bugs in the room and flying in the room and cockroaches in reception. ||Now I don’t know if they have bed bugs, but my skin was crawling in the night I only managed about 2 hours sleep and when I woke up I was covered in bug bites. ||I honest to god would not stay here again even if you paid me. I want to leave however there are no hotels with availability in the middle of the night on a Saturday night. ||I don’t know what rooms people are getting to be giving 5 stars on here. But if I could give 0 then I would. ||This is close to the strip which is live all night long, you can hear the music all night so I was glad for my earplugs. ||Big let down for Ocho Rios and I think what ever hotel inspector people they have here need to look at this hotel. ||Only saving grace for this hotel is the view from the room over the ocean which was stunning, but that doesn’t make up for such poor hospitality. ||The rooms are a good size and there is on sight parking. I’m also not sure what the point of the security guard was as he looked about 15 and wasn’t going to be able to stop any trouble should it arise. ||Please do not waste your money on this hotel, I understand it’s a budget hotel and you get what you pay for, however I wouldn’t say in these circumstances that, that is true as I think the rooms are more of a hostel...
