Beppu Ohirayama Onsen OKATANOYU — Attraction in Beppu

Tried private onsen here a few times.

Semi-open air onsen room (yufu): was spacious and clean.

Tried other private onsen (less waiting time) for just 1500 yen/hour! It was clean and relaxing.

No toiletries available in the onsen rooms (can rent for 50 yen). Upon inserting the coin you're given at the reception, hot water fills for about 5-10 minutes. You can adjust the temperature afterwards.

Lots of parking spots available nearby, easy to reach from the main road. You cannot make reservations in advance but can arrive at the onsen and wait until a spot opens up.

Magical. Some of the most beautiful family baths you can get, for a very fair price (2500¥/h). Water is very hot and quite clear, not too many minerals in it but the baths themselves are just so beautiful. Wonderful onsen for private usage (family bath) with many options, a fair price (between 1500 and 2100 yen) for an hour and you can extend for 750 yen. The staff is very friendly and the surroundings is Great for relaxation....
