A highland resort for outdoor lovers
Lake Shirakaba is a mountain resort located at the base of Mt. Yashigamine, at 1500m above sea level. At its center is the lake which gives its name to the area, a 4km-long pool of water surrounded by birch trees.
Lake Shirakaba is a great spot to enjoy outdoor activities. A well-maintained jogging road runs along the length of the lake, there are bikes for rent to explore the grounds and you can find a canoe school and horse-riding facility.
In winter you can have fun in the snow in one of the 3 ski resorts of the area: Royal Hills Ski Resort, 2 in 1 Ski Resort and Ike no Taira Snow Park.
The resort is also a popular among families who can have fun at Ike no Taira Family Land, a local amusement park with plenty of attractions for small kids.
