Really interesting.... besides beautiful and peaceful shrine. The shrine is located at the foot of mount ashigara...the birthplace of Kintaro - a Japanese folktale hero. There's a huge battle axe (Kintaro's hatchet). At the rest area...there are the all-white chickens (silky chickens) running around. One can buy chicken feed and play with the chickens. If anyone wants to help out the shop owners, people can also try splitting wood in half like Kintaro. :D There are free toilets near by and the kintoki Jinja iriguchi tozan bus stop. The shrine is located at the base of mount kintoki on the route you trek towards the summit. Access is off bus stop 549 with a 2 minute walk there after.
The famous axe is located just in front of the shrine including some history of the famous folklore hero of the time which is quite interesting.

But above all. This is where you want to start your hike to the top of Mt. Kintoki. This route up was amazing, will test your ability if you are a avg/mediocre hiker due to the elevation and the way the trail feels so organic....
