Absolutely Incredible Snow Experience at Hakuba 47!
Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment we arrived, the mountain vibes were unbeatable—breathtaking scenery, perfectly groomed slopes, and a fun, welcoming atmosphere that made it one of the best ski destinations I’ve ever visited.
The variety of runs caters to all levels, from wide, gentle slopes for beginners to thrilling tree runs and terrain parks that kept the adrenaline pumping. The snow quality was top-tier, light and fluffy powder that made every run a dream. The lift system was efficient, and the staff were super friendly and helpful—even on busy days, things moved smoothly.
One of the highlights was the terrain park—it’s seriously one of the best in Japan. Whether you’re just starting with jumps or you’re a seasoned freestyler, it’s got something for everyone. Plus, the views from the top of the mountain are simply unreal. You can see across the whole valley—pure magic.
Facilities are clean and well-organized, with plenty of places to grab food or warm up with hot drinks. The rental gear was high quality, and instructors were knowledgeable and patient, making it great for families and solo travelers alike.
I’ll definitely be coming back. Hakuba 47 is a must-visit if you’re into winter sports, stunning alpine scenery, and unforgettable snow...
Read moreCame in December 2015 (unnaturally warm winter) with a combination ticket for both Hakuba Goryu and Hakuba47.
Conditions were pretty bad that day with half of Goryu closed due to lack of snow and far too many clouds at the top where everyone was forced to ski.
However, more of Hakuba47 was ski-able in comparison and offered more scenic views that Goryu! I do agree with other reviewers that it gets really crowded here and some of the key lifts are far too slow and tiny for the traffic they get. That results in a few painful lineups.
Might be better on a nicer day but for now I'd rather spend the same amount of money and go to nearby Happone where you get a lot more runs to play with and more powder...
Read moreGreat place for both novice and experienced folks, cheap lift tickets and good facilities (eateries, restrooms and great shop) up top. The top trail was initially closed due to windy conditions but a few hours later they opened it back up so be sure to contando check. It is easier if you stay in Hakuba village (anywhere) as you can easily walk to the lift within 10 minutes of any hotel. Cabs are an option but will add up and may take a while to get (30 to 45 min wait) The only complaint I have is the lack of local Japanese people working up front, it is primarily ran by Australians so you don’t get the same customer service you get everywhere...
