Hotel Oak Forest is a hotel tucked at the corner Echoland, with multiple shuttle buses to different Ski Resorts around the area. One good thing is that many shuttles start at Oak Forest, so it is convenient. We stayed in a Western-style room on the 2nd floor. It was a big room with a large space, but a small toilet. There are sufficient amenities like Yukatas, towels, toothbrushes, cups, a kettle, fridge, TV, storage area, just like any normal hotel would have. There are a few well stocked vending machines, a very nice and well-equipped indoor and outdoor onsen, an entertainment room, a few washing machines, a storage area, ski rental, ski storage and a gift shop as well. The hotel includes breakfast for all packages and it is daily from 7am to 8.30pm. The breakfast buffet is acceptable and there is sufficient seating. The hotel also has dinner service but it is not free and you have to tell the staff beforehand. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. They can give you suggestions on what to eat and how to get to the ski resort, etc. The hotel provides a one-way service to Echoland, the main town of Hakuba but it is about a 15-minute walk back to the hotel, bad for a rainy day. This hotel seems quite old, there are very limited TV channels and the Wifi is terrible. Throughout the 4 days I stayed at the Oak Forest, the Wifi signal was really weak and at times I couldn’t even play music from the internet. Wifi is one of the most crucial parts of the stay.

I dont know why this hotel doesn't have at least 4 stars on google. location is in a cozy corner of echoland, which may seem far from the nightlife/restaurants, but its actually in walking distance. Moreover there are shuttle buses that the hotel provides for guests at dinner time, to take them to where the nightlife is. Onsen was great, loved the outdoor part of it w snow falling down while soaking after a good day of snowboarding. Breakfast at this place is quite phenomenal as well, such a great spread of japanese/western cuisine. Simple dishes but w variety. Service here is great as well with staff going lengths to make sure we are ferried around. *Impt for skiers/snowboarders* Hotel oak forest also is at the start/end of the shuttle bus services to the major slopes. Happo-one, Goryu/Hakuba 47, Iwatake. Super convenient with these buses taking you back and forth. The hotel also has a decent ski/snowboard rental service! Really everything you need is at the hotel. Definitely will stay here again when im back in Hakuba.

We stayed at Oak Forest for 6 days, nice front desk service, the boy was very helpful. Our room waa japanese style, big and comfortable. The onsen was little bit small, but still enough. But fhe breakfast was little bit poor, my opinion the hotel can improve little bit more in the breakfast. The have shuttle bus service to the ski place and the sell lift coupon ticket too. And the ski locker room was big and clean!

Stayed here for 8 nights with 2 other mates on a ski trip.|This hotel is great for snow trips as they have lockers downstairs for each room, that is heated constantly and dries everything overnight. This frees up space in the rooms to dry the smaller things like socks etc.|There are many buses that go direct from the hotel to the ski resort every morning and pick you up again in the afternoon.|The manager is the nicest and most helpful person you will meet. He is always working very long days and is extremely accommodating to his guests. |Hotel has a shuttle bus that you can ask to drop you into Hakuba township, down the road, or to the main bus terminal in Hakuba from where you can take another bus to one of the resorts that are not directly serviced from the hotel.|Breakfast is adequate to set you up for the day, and is a continental buffet.|We stayed in a traditional japanese room with futon beds (mattresses on the floor). Very comfortable and a good experience from the traditional bed.|Hotel has an onsen that can be used everyday. It is great after a long day on the slopes.|I would recommend this hotel as it services all the needs that a guest...
