Bentenjima Seaside Park — Attraction in Hamamatsu

Had a great time fishing at the park here, we caught several small puffer fish and my girlfriend caught a beautiful kurodai while fishing for the first time in her life.

The locals fishing here were very friendly and did not mind us fishing nearby, and were helpful with identifying the animals when we caught things that we were not sure what it was, such as the giant sea slugs we managed to pull a few times by accident.

We rented our gear from the nearby Marui Tackle and Bait shop where the couple who run it were very friendly towards me. They do not speak much english but with the aid of google translate and my very limited japanese we were able to communicate well enough to get the gear rental, bait recommendation, and directions on where to fish. I would highly recommend them if you wish to try fishing here and do not have your own gear or just need some bait and tackle.

At the time of this writing gear rental Is ¥1000 with a ¥1000 deposit which is returned when you bring back the gear and includes Caterpillar worms as bait. Prices on bait and tackle are also very fair.
