I got lucky and discovered that the Naga Kenko Matsuri festival was on during my stay in Himeji so I spent two days at this incredible festival. Well done to everyone involved for creating such a magical experience. The only additional comment would be to offer tourists a place to view the last days event. There was literally nowhere I could find to view so being the cheeky chappy i am I sneaked into one of the stands and kept as low as I could to not upset the locals who obviously paid a lot for the viewing spot.

灘のけんか祭りの本場・松原八幡神社。 豪快な屋台練りは迫力満点ですが、実は歴史の舞台でもあります。 豊臣秀吉が姫路城を整備した際、この神社を城内に移すよう命じたものの、領主・黒田官兵衛が「氏神を動かしてはならぬ」と強く反対し、結局そのまま残されたという逸話が伝わっています。 祭りの起源は江戸初期、400年以上続く伝統行事。さらに戦時中、米軍の無差別空襲を奇跡的に免れたことで、今も往時の姿をとどめています。 歴史と誇りを現代に伝えながら、姫路灘の漢たちの正月がやってくる――ヨーイヤサー！！

お宮参りでこちらの神社に行きました。 主人の家は代々ここでお宮参りをするんだって事で伺いましたがお宮参り自体は問題ありませんでした、しかし、終わった後にお食い初めのお箸を貰うのですがその時に私の子供を見て 「この子何ヶ月？生後1ヶ月過ぎてるでしょ？はぁ、あのね、普通は◯◯日までにはやるんだよ(呆れ」と半笑いで言われました。 私の子供は未熟児だった為、1ヶ月は保育器に入っていましたし寒い時期だったので暖かくなってからお食い初めの時に一緒にしようとなりました。若いからって無知だと思われたのでしょうか？確かにそれがマナーなのかも知れませんが人それぞれ出来ない事情だってあるんです。全てマナー通りにしないといけないみたいな言い方はやめて欲しいです。 おじいちゃんの人がしてくれました。 写真とかも撮ってくれます。 あの言葉...
