Worth a walk down this street if you have the time. Most of the temple buildings are relatively new construction—they are attractive but if you are hoping to see historical buildings you will want to hurry down the street to Choshoji 長勝寺 at the very end. The rest of the temples surely have their specialties, but for the casual visitor they don’t have...

A little far away from Hirosaki Castle but easy to reach if you rent a bicycle at the station. Rather quiet historic temple in a neighbourhood with numerous other temples. Although there were some tour buses this place felt calm compared to the overcrowded castle park. People seem to respect the spirituality...

The entire street is full of temples on either side of the road, each one similar but also so very different from the others, its a fantastic area that really makes you feel as though you are taking a step back in time. Worth taking a walk down here slowly and just checking...
