Beautiful views! Starting at Hiroshima station, combined this hike with Mt Ushita & Mt Kanda hiking, finishing at Kandasansou (for Onsen! 👍) and returning home via Astrom line at Ushita station. From Hiroshima station, walk north from the Shinkansen-(northern) exit, until you reach Hikargaoka-Yamane Park (光が丘山根公園) there’s a good walking map at this park (but mainly showing local temples & shrines). From here head straight up the road to Sakuragaoka High School (桜ヶ丘高校), keep heading along the winding roads up the hills (it’s quite steep), and eventually you’ll come to the hiking entry/ 登山口 running along the back of an apartment block (not well signed so look out carefully!) (rough timing (including breaks): JR Hiroshima Station => Mt Onaga (1HR); Mt Onaga => Mt Ushita (1 1/2HRS); Mt Ushita => Mt Kanda/ +Kandasansou (1 1/4HRS); Kandasansou => Ushita Station (Astrom) (1/2HR))
