A place with a pagoda in the middle surrounded with sakura trees. The view is beautiful, even if on the left side is a cemetery. There's a toilet but no place to buy drinks. So pack some food and drinks. We walked up from Onagatenmangu shrine, which is not a great way as the path is basically flat and steep paved road with little shades. And it's about 900 metre according to the guide. Going up from Hiroshima Toshogu shrine probably a better way as the path is more shady, going through the mini forest and up the steps. Basically if you want shades and doesn't mind the many steps, go this way. If you want flat road and dont mind the steepness then go from the other path.

On the way down you can take the paved route and walk through the contemporary Japanese neighborhood, as well as feeling intensely smug about your mini hike. See photos for the hike conditions when wet.
