Hiroshima City Museum of History and Traditional Crafts — Attraction in Hiroshima

This museum has quite an attractive way to display and inform visitors (as any museums in japan). Using images, real property, ship model, non-japanese can quite understand the history of japanese civilization (there is a wall with images of progression of japanese civilization) and also indigenous skill and agricultural or pottery craft just by seeing the materials displayed. 私的には広島を理解できる凄く良質な資料館かと思いました。先ず断層が示してある広島湾の立体模型に釘付け、そして戦争物資拠点としての宇品の歴史、カキ養殖に至る経緯、地形を生かした広島に特有の人の営みが、ブラタモリ的ストーリー展開でスムーズに展示されています。企画展も四半期ごと位にリニューアルさせているようで、私が訪れた時は「新美南吉のごんぎつね」の展示だったのですが、展示内容の良さもさることながら、セレクトのセンスが光るものだった。広島も南吉もごんぎつねも悲劇が襲った訳だが、思想的に右にも左にも振れる事無く、只々肌感覚を通して事柄が淡々と過ぎ去っていくように展示されている。良い資料館だなと。 この建物は、宇品陸軍糧秣支廠、いわゆる戦争を支えた食料関連施設で、当時の雰囲気を残す貴重な戦争遺構でもあります。広島の定番は、やはり日本観光のゴールデンルートの原爆ドームや平和記念資料館の界隈でしょうが、コロナ明けや円安によるインバウンド需要等々でカオス化してるので、私的にはもう無理。落ち着いて広島を理解されたい方は此...
