After a leisurely 3-kilometer-walk of enjoying the cherry blossoms along the Kawazu River, we reached Kawazuhama Beach where the breakwater offshore ensures a peaceful beach with gently lapping waves.

Kawazuhama Beach (Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan), is not well known, which helps keeps the crowds to a minimum. The beach itself is not that big, but offers a chance to take some nice sunrise photos or maybe even have a barbecue during summer.

Although driving to the beach offers opportunities to see more of the local area (162 km southwest of Tokyo), you can easily reach the beach within a 6-minute walk of Kawazu Station on the JR...

I went here the first week of march and so many people are here. They enjoy the Kawazu zakura and then enjoy lunch at the beach. Saw many family bring their picnic basket and mat and enjoy the sun and breeze at the beach while enjoying lunch and the kids run around playing with water. The scenery is okay. The water is blue but it is not a white sand. I hope people (especially foreigners) are more conscious about leaving trash in here since the cleaning staff looks so tired picking up trash. Anyway a great place and deffinitely want to...

Not a swimming beach but i enjoyed my time dipping my feet there. There are quite a lot of items getting washed up Shore including junk, seaweed, wood shreds, shells, dead sea lives, Corals, etc... can go on a treasure hunt and you may find...
