Komatsu no Mori was opened on May 13, 2011, as one of Komatsu's 90th anniversary projects and is jointly operated by the NPO, Midori-no-Komatsu Sukusuku-Kai, organized by Komatsu retiree volunteers. We provide nature observation classes on Satoyama woodland and science/manufacturing classes to foster the healthy development of children and preserve the environment. In 2021, Komatsu's 100th anniversary year, the Wakuwaku Komatsu Kan was extensively renovated into the History Museum, and next to the 930E dump truck, a super-large hydraulic excavator PC4000 was placed, which should be used as a loading machine, to recreate the atmosphere of a large-scale mine in the world. Komatsu [Komatsu Ltd.] was established in May 1921 in the Yokaichi-machi district in Komatsu City [now Komatsunomori] by Meitaro Takeuchi, who was born in Sukumo City. Kochi Prefecture. It was a spin-off from Komatsu Iron Works, the machinery repair division of the Yusenji Copper Mine owned by Takeuchi Mining Industry. Although the head office was later relocated to Tokyo, the Komatsu Plant had continued to operate here as a production facility for industrial machinery. Even today, 100 years later from the company's establishment, Komatsu no Mori is still built on the strong commitment of Komatsu and local alumni who retired from the company and still cherish the place where it was founded. At Komatsu no Mori, Komatsu retirees are energetically volunteering to organize science and nature classes for children, maintain the Satoyama woodland, which has become a recreational and relaxing area for the community, guide the visitors to ride in the driver's seats of the super-large mining machines, and support guests...

Otherwise there is a small excavator for kids to operate, and etc etc.
It’s pity they don’t run this fantastic exhibition center on Sundays. Car parking lot available. Completely...
