ISSHINGYOU KOUEN Park — Attraction in Minamiaso

Famous sakura tree in Kumamoto prefecture. It was planted in 1580 to commemorate a battle with a clan from Kagoshima. There are a few gravestones around the tree with members of the battle and family. The tree is impressive when in full bloom—I missed it this year.
