Mishima Taisha is a beautiful, fairly famous Shinto Shrine. The short walk from the train station was really great and very relaxing. There is a small, crystal clear waterway beside the route we took. My photos could not do it justice. If you go, try some of the genuine, fresh wasabi that's available at one of the shops across the street from the shrine. Luckily, we happened to visit on Shichi-Go-San, a festival for 3 and 7-year-old girls and 5-year-old boys. It was really fun seeing them dressed up. There was also a wedding while we were there.

Mishima Taisha is one of the beautiful Taisha one can found around Japan. This Taisha has a beautiful garden and the Sakura blossoms here is an awesome experience a must see if you at Mishima near the end of March. There are some historical museums and small zoo for deers where one can feed them and pet them which is very popular among kids and grownups. The main festival happens near the summer vacation around August-September, which is a three day long festival season, with lot of people from different parts of the prefecture.

Mishima Taisha is a perfect place to enjoy Sakura full bloom during the day and evening. Under the daylight Sakura flowers are bright and you get the warmth of the sun. In the evening the illuminations create a magic atmosphere and sparks your imagination. I recommend visiting this place for those who want to get beautiful pictures and refresh mind in the calm and magnificent atmosphere!

I love visiting Mishima, Japan for the Taisha Mishima shrine. I find peace here. There are many things to do such as deer that you can feed (small fee), fish in a pond that you can also feed, vendors that sell merchandise (on a particular weekend) and pictures that you can take.

Autumn time is probably not the most scenic time to visit. Did not see any deers upon visit. However, you can tell that the place has many cherry blossom making it a scenic place to visit during the spring and summer. The large temple grounds was well kept and felt peaceful
