I feel it's somewhat entitled to say this, but I think there should have been a little bit more English in the displays that I saw here. I would have loved to have learned more about the Nagano Olympics and the amazing athletes that competed than I did. I know this is Japan, and they can't translate everything to every language for all the international visitors who visit. But this is a museum about a major international event and for better or worse, English is the lingua franca of the world. Anyway, I came here and dreamed that I could have been like one of these beautiful, talented, blessed athletes. Why didn't I try to do what they did when I was young and capable? I know why. Hey, it was still worth the 6 km walk from Nagano Station. I speak Japanese and know I could have taken a bus but look what I could do at 63....
Read morePretty small but interesting museum that shows off Olympics merchandise from the 1998 Nagano Olympics. The building itself is very cool and worth seeing if you are a sports or architecture fan! The entrance was free and the museum has a shop that sells merchandise. It is kinda out of the way from other attractions in Nagano but is a cool piece of Olympic history. The reason for the three star rating is the museum is quite small and you will be able to experience most everything in 30-45 minutes while traveling here takes 30 minutes by bus from Nagano station. It’s one hour walk to get there from nagano station, so it would have been nice to know… I thought the opening hours were accurate on Google, but apparently not for such events…...
