While strolling down Kokusai Street in Naha, we came across Calbee+—a bright, cheery little snack shop that caught our attention with its vibrant signage and unmistakable potato aroma. We’re already big fans of Japanese snacks, so we had to step in and check it out.

We were immediately drawn to the freshly fried sweet potato sticks—crispy outside, soft inside, and lightly sweet. Honestly, they were so addictive! I loved the mix of regular and purple sweet potato—they gave the snack a unique Okinawan twist. We also tried the salt soft serve made with Okinawan sea salt.
