The Palm Royal is a gem of a hotel. Elegant décor. Great location. Wonderful staff. Rates incredibly low for the quality and breakfast. I wouldn’t even consider staying anywhere else the next time I travel to Naha.||We had a twin room in the new section of the building, which they called the RAM (Royal Art Museum) Tower. We were on the 9th floor, which featured 19th century illustrations of the Perry Expedition through the Ryukyu islands. Each floor offered a different theme, and the artwork in both lobby and halls were wonderful. Was an unexpected pleasure to return through that pretty hall each day. ||Extremely clean, bright room. Tap water safe for drinking. Great air-conditioning and ceiling fan. Lovely bathroom and toiletries. There was a nescafe machine, but the coffee was too strong for my taste, and as I prefer drinking the Japanese canned coffees, I just had those in the mini-frig during my stay. Plenty of plugs and USB ports for charging.||Pool was smallish but very nice. Breakfast ample, even late in the service, which was from 7-10 a.m. A large buffet with lots of juices, coffees, and sweet and savory options.||The cleaning staff was also great. Read moreI booked what I thought was a double room for my friend and I. We paid 2x the standard rate for a single room. This would have been fine, except that they were unwilling to change the price of the original room which was double the price of 1 guest. We ended up paying for 3 guests even though we only had 2. The staff recognized the illogic of this, but seemed completely unwilling to help, even after acknowledging we were overpaying by 150%.
Overall, a very...
