We visited on the grand opening night since it was right by our hotel. We had no wait, but by the time we left, several people were in line. There are basically 9 options based on the 3 different portions of steak cutlet (1 cutlet, 1.5 cutlet, and 2 cutlets). You can get either of those 3 options with no drink, with a soft drink, or with beer. Whichever you choose comes with miso, a heaping portion of shredded cabbage, a small portion of something like potato salad, a small portion of something green that was diced and pickled, and rice. You also get a ginger dressing for the cabbage, soy sauce, and a ginger/horseradish side along with a generous glob of Wasabi. The most fun part was the small stone cooking slab at each seat where you can cook the meat to your liking (it comes rare). The cutlet coating was flavorful, light, and crunchy and the steak literally melts in your mouth. We were very impressed with the service, the friendliness of everyone, including the chefs, and the atmosphere of the place. It only seats about 30 people, but it is definitely worth a try when you're in Naha. It's conveniently located between Miebashi Station and Kokusai Street. The two meals cost us 4,930 Yen, which is about $35. An amazing value! We will definitely visit again when we're in Naha. Thank you for a memorable last...

Nestled in the bustling heart of Naha’s Kokusai-dori, Gyukatsu Motomura offers an unforgettable dining experience that beautifully marries tradition with culinary innovation. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm smiles and an atmosphere that is both cozy and inviting, setting the stage for an exceptional meal. The star of the menu, the gyukatsu, is a masterpiece of flavor and texture. Each piece of beef is perfectly breaded and fried to a delicate crisp, locking in the juiciness and rich flavors. The do-it-yourself cooking style allows you to savor your gyukatsu just the way you like it – a unique and interactive dining delight. The presentation of the dishes is nothing short of art. Each plate arrives looking almost too beautiful to eat, with an array of vibrant sides that complement the main course perfectly. The staff’s attention to detail and dedication to quality is evident in every bite. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Gyukatsu Motomura Naha Kokusai-dori Honten promises a culinary journey that will leave your taste buds dancing and your heart full. Absolutely unforgettable experience at Gyukatsu Motomura – Naha Kokusai-dori Branch! Hands down the best gyukatsu we’ve ever had in Japan. The beef was incredibly tender, perfectly crispy on the outside, and so much fun to finish cooking on the hot stone at your table. Every bite was packed with flavor and quality.

What made it even more special was the exceptional hospitality – the manager personally came to our table, explained every part of the meal with pride, and made us feel so welcome. At the end, we even received an adorable hand-drawn thank you sticker – a sweet touch that shows how much they care about the guest experience.

The interior design is beautiful, blending traditional and modern Japanese elements with stunning wall art that transports you into a cultural journey while you dine. Every detail, from the table setup to the atmosphere, was just perfect.

If you're in Okinawa, this is a must-visit spot. You’ll leave with a full heart and a full stomach! Thank you for the amazing dinner and warm hospitality – we’ll...

Food 4*: Got the 2 cutlet serving portion for around 2,700 JPY. The portion size of the beef cutlets were great, considering I am a heavy meat-eater. Potato salad side was so good, I ordered 4 more servings. Only downside to the food were the portion sizes of the side dishes, personally felt like they were a bit too small. Service 5*: Went in slightly late for dinner, service staff were polite, professional and efficient. Did not wait more than 7 minutes for our food & drinks to be served after we placed our order. Although I only had a party size of 2, they allocated us to the next available seat (which catered to a party size of 6-8), which made us very comfortable. Atmosphere 4*: The restaurant is tucked away quietly somewhere near a corner of the popular Kokusai street. The place was clean and somehow well ventilated considering it was air-conditioned & a grill restaurant. Only downside was the size of the washroom, I could not close the door unless i squeezed myself against the wall/toilet. Overall still an amazing atmosphere.

This is an absolute delight in Naha! This fried steak restaurant is really popular in Tokyo, Osaka and other cities and it’s first time we see it in Naha! Cuz it’s new, so I think less people wait in line compared to the Tokyo ones which makes it perfect spot for foodies like us :) Steak itself is very tender and well seasoned. It came with crispy crust already in rare to medium rare, and then you can grill it on a hot stone plate as long as you like. It’s a full dinner set with steak (can choose from 1, 1.5, 2 portion) and salad, pickles and soup, typical set menu in JP. Wonderful staff and beautiful settings! Definitely recommended to those who haven’t tried fried steak yet but beef lover!
