Naha Airport is new and extensive that housed both the Domestic and International Terminals for flights in and out of Okinawa Honto or main island. There many directional signages to help visitors navigate around. And, there are lockers for temporary storage of baggage and stuff, a lot of restaurants to cater for different taste buds, and lots of shops for last minutes shopping, too. The boarding of the free shuttle buses to take customers to the car rental garages of Times, Toyota, and many others are located on the ground floor at the far end of the Domestic terminal. The shuttle buses are lined up across the inner road and can't be missed. It is a long walk, though, with lifts and or escalators to take upon arrival and exiting from the International terminal. You will need to allocate adequate time for that, and in case you are lost along the way and may need help to guide to your desired pick-up point. It is in the same direction to the car park area and boarding of taxis and buses. My wife and I were fortunate and blessed to navigate ourselves to reach the pick-up point to catch the shuttle bus to Times Car Rental, where we had a car under reservation. It was a short ride to the Times Car Rental garage, and is similar for the other car rentals, which are located around the area that is easy for customers to return the rental cars and given a ride back to the Airport, where there are various transportation options available to choose from. The Yui Rail connects to the Naha Airport Station and is an easy and convenient transport to Naha City. There are many directional signages leading to and from the Naha Airport Station, with vending machines where you can select English for purchase of tickets to different drop off points in Naha City. The prices of tickets for different locations are displayed on the board, too. The ticket price is reasonable, as well. We paid 300 yen each for the ticket from Makishi Station to Naha Airport Station, whereas the cost by taxi was 1,500 yen that we paid for our ride to Hotel JAL City Naha, after we had returned the rental car at Times Car Rental. The check-in for International flights is located on the third floor and you take the escalator down to the second floor and turn left to join the queue lined up for Customs and Security Screening. Unless you are far ahead with lots of time to spare, head straight to Customs. In our case, the queue was very long, with the Customs and Security officials seemingly unable to cope and appeared overwhelmed by the sheer number of visitors exiting through the two security scanners, thereafter. We observed there are passengers who are likely to miss their flights given the long queue and under estimating the required time to clear. There are still many shops around after exiting the Customs and Security, including washrooms and water dispensers to fill empty bottle for...

Read moreWelcome to the dumbest airport that is run in possibly the most imbecilic manner known to man.
Had a flight at 2am, so the check in counter opens at 1am - fine by us. We got dropped off at the airport at about 10pm after returning our rental car, settled into the arrival area to wait for the check in counter to open.
Guess what? The airport closes at 12 midnight, so they chase everybody out of the physical building and make them wait outside the airport in the open air for ONE HOUR while absolutely nothing happens in the inside of the building. If you are using that one hour for a building-wide cleaning, sure. That makes sense. Instead, it just appears that they are sticking, like unthinking buffoons, to the gazetted closing time.
Now before you say, "it's only one hour, what's the big deal?", let me ask you - it's only one hour, what's the big deal? Rather than spending time, effort, and money on guards chasing every traveller out of the building, why not just let them stay in there for all of 60 minutes. Nobody was being unruly, nobody was creating a mess. We were all just minding our own damned business, and there can't have been more than 30 travellers in the building, waiting for a flight that was scheduled to take off in ONE FREAKING HOUR.
Stupid. Dumb. Retarded. Abysmal. Incomprehensible. Gormless. Idiotic. I'm running out of words to describe...
