A Tranquil Paradise of Lavender and Flowers - A Must-Visit Gem! Rating: 5/5 I recently had the pleasure of visiting Furano Tomita Farm and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. We decided to travel from Sapporo to Furano independently, without a tour, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. Here's why I highly recommend this enchanting farm. The journey from Sapporo to Furano via train was seamless, and despite the DIY approach, it was surprisingly easy to navigate. The round trip cost us around $160 SGD for two people, which was definitely worth it considering the total travel time of 3-4 hours each way. During our trip, we made a delightful pit stop at Asahikawa station, where we savored our delicious bento while enjoying the serene beauty of a nearby park overlooking a picturesque lake. It was the perfect way to recharge before continuing our journey. Upon reaching Nakafurano station, a pleasant 20-minute walk brought us to a mini version of Tomita Farm. Here, we embarked on a memorable adventure, riding a one-person cable car that took us up and down the rolling hills adorned with lavender and an array of vibrant flowers. The breathtaking views were simply awe-inspiring. Our excitement grew as we strolled another 10 minutes towards Tomita Farm itself, where we were greeted by expansive hills and an enchanting landscape overflowing with lavender and a kaleidoscope of colorful flowers. The farm not only offered stunning visual delights but also produced a range of delightful lavender-based byproducts, including perfume, mist, and sanitizer, each capturing the fragrance of freshly picked lavender. The entire journey, from the scenic walk to the immersive farm experience, was undeniably worthwhile. For those who don't mind the train travel and a bit of walking, I highly recommend taking the DIY approach. However, it's important to start your journey early to make the most of your visit. For those seeking convenience, there are tour options available through platforms like Klook or other agencies, allowing you to explore this captivating destination with ease. Whichever option you choose, Furano Tomita Farm is an absolute must-visit. One tip I would recommend is visiting on a weekday to fully appreciate the tranquil beauty of the farm without the crowds. This will ensure a more serene and immersive experience. In conclusion, Furano Tomita Farm is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape into a world of lavender and colorful blooms. The DIY journey, the captivating views, and the delightful lavender byproducts make it an unforgettable destination. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this paradise on earth for an experience that will leave you enchanted and refreshed. (Note: SGD stands for Singapore Dollars)

🌸 Visited Tomita Farm on July 29 🌸 Tomita Farm in Naka Furano, Hokkaido, was a delightful experience overall. The must-try treats were the Lavender ice cream, priced between 300-350 yen, and the delicious Yubari (Melon) at 480 yen for one piece. It’s definitely worth a try! The ideal spending duration for a visit here would be around 1.5-2 hours, allowing you to explore the farm at a comfortable pace. If you need a locker, you can find one for 100 yen in the White building, which also houses lavender cosmetics. One thing to note is that some of the lavender fields were past their prime when I visited, resulting in falling flowers. However, there was still a small path with late blooming lavender, providing a lovely glimpse of the beautiful flowers. Keep in mind that weekends can get very crowded, so if possible, consider planning your visit during weekdays for a more serene experience. Despite the crowd, Tomita Farm is undeniably charming and a must-visit spot in Hokkaido for its lavender charm. 🌿

This was one of the stops on our day trip to Biei. EXPERIENCE: All we did was add to the busloads of tourists and travelers. Definitely not the kind of activity I’d choose, but I was part of a group. After passing through the gift shop which is also the main entrance, a field of colorful hardware store-bought flowers greet you. Selfie stick and social media gluttony was in full effect. At the top of the hill and traversing down the left side were vendors selling fresh melon, soft serve and everything lavender. I said I wouldn’t do it but I purchased a cup of lavender-colored, lavender-flavored soft serve. It was good on this humid day. I wanted to try the corn on the cob but didn’t have enough yen coins to purchase it. I refused to pass a bill only to receive even more jingling change. OVERALL: I’m 99% sure there were no guided tours and it’s all a big retail shop.

Farm Tomita is very famouse for Lavender flowers field! the views of field is seem like paintings ! unfortunately , when we got there, the flowers were starting gone! but, the flowers field is so huge that we take walk clean and peaceful path! the air was so so clean and fresh and the path along the low mountain was so peaceful! oh, the center of farm there are convenient complex shop including souvenirs shop and restaurants and so on! when we dropped by restaurants for lunch, we were so happy because the shop sells cool drafts beer!! wow! the tourists don't need to buy the tickets for park! especially tourists whois using own car! but, to the tourists who is using train, i recommend to buy "packages tickets" including JR tickets & experience old train & tour of Farm Tomita (when we tour Sapporo, JR Train sells it!) anyway, we had a good time here!

Reminds me of lavender farms back in England, except far more colourful! If you are lucky with the weather, it’s absolutely gorgeous to visit. The rows of colourful flowers, combined with the open sky and distant mountains make it a necessary visit if you’re in Hokkaido. There are a lot of buses bringing tourists in the summer, so be aware it can get busy, but it didn’t feel cramped when I was outside the buildings. The ice-cream was delicious (I recommend melon and lavender), just make sure you eat it quickly. It melts very fast in the heat. The farm shops are very beautiful and well decorated, and sell all sorts, including dried flowers, perfumes, decorations and food items. The closest all-year train station is a 20-25 minute walk away, and only 5 minutes by train from Furano. The melon farm next door is also a necessary visit!

You’ll feel very welcome at Farm Tomita. Their openness to visitors is as refreshing as the flowers in the field. For starters, they don’t charge an entrance fee. You also won’t see any staff policing the farm for misbehaving visitors - the visitors themselves are respectful and follow the signage. Farm Tomita has three cafes spread throughout the farm where visitors can enjoy viewing the colorful fields from different angles. It has gift shops that sell - of course - original products made with natural lavender oil. The farm offers many other activities like taking a peek at how they extract oil from lavenders at the distillery workshop and how they make their products at the perfume workshop. All in all, I think you’ll enjoy Farm Tomita as much as we did.
