In my opinion, the place was worth going to because there were not so many sightseeing points here. Information about the time watching the biggest swirl should be gathered for a better arrangement. Otherwise, visitors might be disappointed with the view of normal swirl. The carpark was not built next to the observation terrace. However, the bridge was a great construction, which could be an attraction itself. The entrance fee was reasonable. There were some transparent holes along the well-covered steel walkway for people to watch the swirl underneath. Of course, tourists could enjoy a closer look and feel the strength of the swirl by joining a boat trip. The operators would stop the engine of the boat while approaching the center of the swirl and let it turn freely for some time. Sometimes, the foggy weather made the coastline feel like a...

The current in the strait of Naruto is one of the strongest in the world. Uzu no Michi is a 450m long floating promenade. The promenade is lined with wire mesh so you can feel the breezes of the Naruto strait. Every hundred meters, there are rest stations with glass windows that offer spectacular views of the surging currents. In right conditions , the whirlpools can measure up to 20m in diameter. The best view of the whirlpools is through the glass floor, 45m above the sea. A observation room lies at the end of the promenade. Roaring whirlpools and surging currents can be seen through glass windows set in the floor. Experience the thrill and excitement. Opening hours 9.00 ~ 18.00, admission ticket...

Visiting 渦之道 (Uzu no Michi) in Awaji was an incredible and unique experience! Walking along the glass-floored walkway suspended above the swirling Naruto Whirlpools was both thrilling and mesmerizing. The view of the ocean currents from above is truly one-of-a-kind and offers a fascinating look at one of nature’s wonders. The facility is well-maintained, with helpful information panels in both Japanese and English, making it educational as well. Try to time your visit with the tidal schedule for the best chance to see the whirlpools in full force. A must-visit attraction for anyone coming to...

This is a must see place to visit on the way driving to Tokushima. Wonderful experience with stunning views of the whirlpool effect from above the suspension bridge. Timing is important and need to match with high tide to see the turbulent waters. Be ready first a good 10-15 min walk from the carpark to the observatory.
