Niseko View Plaza Rest Area — Attraction in Niseko

We made a stop at Niseko View Plaza on our way to Hilton Niseko Village, and it was such a pleasant break for the whole family. The place was clean, neat, and surrounded by beautiful views of the Hokkaido countryside.

The kids were especially happy because they got to enjoy some delicious soft-serve ice cream, which turned out to be a perfect mid-journey treat. There were also a number of food kiosks offering snacks and quick bites, so it was easy for everyone to find something they liked.

What stood out was the local farmers’ market right on-site, selling super fresh produce and handmade goods. We browsed through seasonal fruits, vegetables, and local specialties—it felt like a little peek into Hokkaido’s farming culture.

If you're a fan of dairy, don’t miss the Niseko dairy products—they’re a must-buy! My personal favorite is the Niseko yoghurt, which is incredibly creamy and delicious. にんじん、ジャガイモ、トマト、ピーマン、ブロッコリーなど100円で販売している。ニセコメロンが青と赤があり生産者に聞くと赤がおすすめだが本州の人は青が好むと話す。メロンの値段はピンキリで安いと300円～400円台である。贈答品だと1000円で平均値は600～1000円くらいであった。こちらでは食べごろというステッカーが貼ってあり9/1食べごろとか9/1～9/5食べ頃と記載してあるので買いやすいのがよい。生産者にリンゴや桃のように大きめの方が甘いのか聞くと小さくても甘いので関係ないときっぱり話す。嘘だろと思い一応メロンは赤と青を購入してみた。結論は赤の方がおすすめ。理由は生産者のおすすめの食べ方であるメロンを半分にしてスプーンでくり抜いて食べる方法をすると赤だと皮の中を結構スプーンで削ってもまだ甘味があり美味しく半球状態で食べるので削った時にでる汁がそのままメロンの皮が皿というかボールの役目をしてメロン汁をこぼさず最後に飲み干せるのでかなり良かった。青色は一般的に食べるあのメロン味でどちらも甘いのだが赤に甘さの軍配が上がり青メロンだとあまり皮を削りすぎると甘味がなくなるので皮を余分に残すこととなりお得感がなくなった。 こちらの道の駅はそれほど新しい物では無いが訪れた8月下旬時には朝のオープンとともに人が入店しほぼ駐車場は日中を通しいっぱいであった。 本州では8月はいちごの販売はほとんどしていないがこちらでは販売していた。別のところではあるが観光協会の方に聞いた話によると確か北海道では今からがいちごのシーズンと言ってた。 野菜や果物がかなり売れるようで頻繁に農家の方が商品を運んでいるのを目にした。中にはライムきゅうりとなる聞いた事もないものまで販売。 休館日 情報プラザ棟 無休 フリースペース棟 ・農産物直売所コーナー 年末年始 ・テイクアウトコーナー 年末年始 定休日 ※店舗によって異なる 開館時間 情報プラザ棟 09：00～18：00 フリースペース棟 ・農産物直売所コーナー 08：30～18：00 （4月下旬～10月）、09：00～17：00 （11月～4月下旬） ・テイクアウトコーナー 09：30～16：30 （4月下旬～10月）、10：00～16：0...
