Great place to stay if you want to be away from the craze at Hirafu!!!
My family had a great time staying at SnowDog Village during our holiday.
The staff are very helpful from the moment the reservation was made months ago... Mark and his colleagues answered promptly to many questions and requests from someone who had no experience in Niseko. They helped me to select the right, family friendly slope and helped to book the Ski lessons and provided options for ski gears rental.
The reception team (Kellie, Reid and Toshie) was also very friendly and helpful during our stay.
The apartment was great... spacious (for Japan standard), comfy, well-heated, clean and well-equipped. Would recommend to 'stock up' before check-in as the location is not that near to the nearest town (Kutchan) where big supermarkets are... best if you have a car to get around the area and to go to the ski slopes without having to take the shuttles (can leave all gears in the cars).
If there is one suggestion to make, it would be to have some 'cooking ingredients' (like cooking oil, salt, soya sauce, pepper) available for sales at the reception, if not provided in the apartment.
Overall, we had a blast there and we would certainly stay there again if we go back Niseko again!...

Our stay at SnowDogs Village in Niseko was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, everything was seamless, making our trip both relaxing and memorable. The accommodation was cozy, well-appointed, and the perfect place to unwind after a long day on the slopes.
A massive thank you to Robert, who truly made our experience exceptional. His recommendations were spot on, including one for a local ramen spot called Ramen HORIEYA , where we had the most AMAZING bowl of ramen we’ve ever had—an absolute must-visit! He also helped us organise ski rentals with ease and generously provided lifts to and from the ski areas most days, making everything super convenient.
This was hands down one of our most memorable trips, and we will definitely be back. We highly recommend SnowDogs Village (and Ramen HORIEYA Niseko888 !) to all our family and friends. If you’re heading to Niseko, this is the place to...
Read moreWOW! What an amazing time staying at snowdog!! The hospitality is incredible. They go above and beyond to help you navigate niseko which isn’t very easy when you’re staying outside of Hirafu. This isn’t a hotel, you have your own unit which we loved. They drive you to the base of the mountain- about 2 min drive. Rooms clean, shower was great and laundry in units- except the laundry soap wasn’t the best, made our clothes smell little funky.
Food things to know- there is a container coffee shop within the village but hours are 12-4. The restaurant connected to snowdog is closed on Tuesdays and you need to make a reservation. There’s a dairy farm shopping area down the street that has a pizza restaurant. Lucky fingers is another restaurant that offered a shuttle service from snowdog. If you’re not eating within those restaurants- maybe a few more, you’re going into hirafu and buses stop at 8pm. Plan ahead and you’ll...
