Dougashima Sea Cave Skylight — Attraction in Nishiizu

Tensodo Cave is made of white tuff, and beneath it is a sea-eroded tunnel that resembles a honeycomb. There are two entrances to this cave: an east exit, a south exit, and a west exit. Pleasure boats enter from the south exit and proceed to the skylight in the center where the ceiling has fallen out. A band of light shines from the ceiling into the dark cave all the way to the sea surface, creating a mystical atmosphere. You can see the sights. In the early spring of 1933, Tetsuki Yosano and his wife Akiko Yosano visited, and it is also written about in tanka poems.
