Omuta City Zoo — Attraction in Omuta

A fairly typical for a Japanese city zoo. Some animals (monkeys, birds kangaroos) had large enclosures with space to move around, but some (notably the bear, lion, tiger and mandrills) had very small enclosures and were displaying obvious patterns of stress behaviour. I would give it two stars, but for the fact that they seem to do food hiding, at this zoo which is better for the mental health of animals than simply...

For a relatively small and out-of-the way zoo, it’s really quite lovely! Some exhibits are still better than others, but they’re clearly trying to spruce it up. As you can see in the pictures, they do things like hide the animals’ food and rearrange their habitats to stimulate them, and there are lots of cute and informative explanations. I encourage everyone to visit so that they can...

そして、『全ての動物が居なくなる。』 動物園の近未来図を見た。きっと、他の動物園もこうなる。

昔ながらの動物園の姿はもう無くなりつつある。

象やカバ...他にも以前なら主要で皆が知る動物が居ない。。。

少し前なら...それをとても残念に寂しさすら感じていた。

しかし、今は違う。

人間のエゴで人工的に作り出されていた先天性異常や障害を持つホワイトタイガーだけではない。

ここにいる動物たちが死んでしまったら...もう、“せめて”...それでおしまい...にするべきだと思う。

狭く小さく...まるでというより、完全に牢屋‼️な檻。

飛ぶことも走ることも出来ない暗く陰気な檻。

こんな所に一生閉じ込められた野性動物が幸せである筈がない❗️

『こんな姿は本来の野性動物ではない！！ ただ、鉄の檻に閉じ込められ、仕方無く居るだけ。』

それは、本来の姿でも野性での生態でも無い。

...ここで、どんなに可愛がられようが、痛んだり、病んだりしてから...人間様から労られたとして...

野性で、自分の意思で強く！...しかし儚くも ...、その本来の生涯を終える方が何万倍も幸せだろう。。。

もう、人間のエゴで野性動物が苦しむ必要は無い。

子供らへの教育を変えよう。。。

野性動物は、本来の自然で生きるべきだ。

僕らにとっては、たった“数時間”の動物園。

動物達へは、一生涯の生き地獄。

僕らが数年？に一度？数時間だけ行くか行かないか？？

その為だけ‼️に、“一生”を動物園の檻に入れられる野性動物が居る必要は無いでしょう。。。😭
