Le Lac HOTEL OTSU ISHIYAMA is a fantastic choice for travelers looking for convenience and affordability. Its close proximity to the station, surrounded by supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance, makes it an excellent location. The quick 15-minute ride to Kyoto adds even more value, especially since this hotel offers better quality for a much lower cost compared to many hotels in Kyoto.

For the price, the comfort and amenities are exceptional. The rooms are cozy and well-maintained. While some guests have mentioned the bathtub feels slightly unstable at first glance, it didn’t cause any issues and was perfectly fine in practice.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, greeting guests with warm smiles. One standout moment was during New Year’s Eve when the hotel displayed a large “Happy New Year” sign at the entrance—a thoughtful touch that added to the festive atmosphere.

A short train ride from Kyoto is Ishiyama and the Reiah Hotel.||We arrived early, dropped off our bags and caught the bus to the Miho. HINT: have an off-line image of the route from the station to the hotel.||The staff are friendly and speak some English. Rooms (we asked for 'queen' and we're given a 'twin'. No complaints as the beds are 'king singles'.||Air conditioning rapidly dropped the room temp from the pre-set 26 to 22. I stayed here four nights I would consider it a budget hotel I enjoy this day and I would definitely stay again the rooms are a bit plain and like most Japanese hotels quite small but the location was pretty good and it was 2 minute walk to the subway with a very much like good restaurants around convenience stores and I thought the staff was very polite my room came with breakfast and I believe the breakfast buffet was very nice to others and might have been minimal but there was half food code futos porridge rice juices all kinds of stews and other things that I might not know what they were but I thought it was all very delicious.
