Zepp Sapporo — Attraction in Sapporo

Saw Sum41 tonight. I was surprised such a huge band played here as it is quite small.

They have a system where you have to pay ¥600 to buy a drink when you go in, so even though you have a ticket, you still have to buy a drink. They also take away the cap, so bring a cap when you come as my wife ended up dropping her water and losing it all.

The queue system was good, they sort you out by ticket number so no need to turn up 4 hours early to get to the front.

They had loads of rules about mushing and crowd surfing, but they didn’t stop people from doing it. It got pretty wild. People were crowd surfing, but it was usually the same 4 idiots and it got annoying eventually.

As with so many things here it's generally good but the management is very odd. Sound is good. Sight lines are good. The barriers are good. Strangely they forced everyone to exit on one side via a very narrow hallway which seemed unsafe. To use your drink coin you had to exit the club to get in line and go through the drink line. Why not just let us go through the drink line on our way out of the club? Preshow line management was well...

札幌が誇る大型ライブハウス。その名のとおり全国に展開するZeppシリーズの箱です。

キャパはスタンディングで約2000人とライブハウスとしては全国でも大規模の部類。 設立は1998年だが、そこまで古さは感じさせない。

場所はススキノラブホ街と中島公園の間にあり、観光ホテルも周囲に多いことから宿泊勢にとってはアクセスしやすい立地。駐車場も多いから車でも来やすいし、値段も1000円台で停められるので悪くない。

音響はZeppシリーズということもあり、非常に良い。壁寄りにいてもよく聴こえるしバランスも悪くない。 ただし、２階席は利用したことがないのでそちらは不明。Zepp Hanedaではさすがに２階席だと少し音響は劣る感じだったが。

スタンディング時はエリア分けして誘導されます。それぞれに柵が設置されているので、寄りかかるのにはちょうど良い。 後方エリアは少しだけ段差があり高くなっています。前方エリアの中途半端に後方より、後方エリア最前列で寄りかかる方が見やすくて楽な可能性も大いにあり。

照明もさすがZeppなので大変良い。 ディスプレイは後方に設置されているように見えたが、いまいち自信はなし。
