Oh man, Google definitely didn't tell me that this museum was on top of a gnarly hill / mountain. After my legs and knees exploded I made it, only to be greeted by GIANT SHINING BABY HEAD. This baby head recurred many times throughout the exhibit + my nightmares. Yay. Don't miss the Rodin wing!
Last bus back to the station is @ 4:23 on weekends (at the time of writing), but if you can stick around and walk down there's lots of sculptures and works on the way. If you're on the bus enjoy the Schumann music.

Read moreReally enjoyed the Theo Jansen exhibition. The staff were really engaging and helpful. Very aware of wheelchair users and made sure everybody could enjoy the live demonstrations of the Strandbeest. There were also ‘caretakers’ of the Strandbeest who was very happy to answer questions people had about the artworks. Beautiful building and surrounding nature is very beautiful with sculptures outside the museum to enjoy as well. Overall a day well spent. The entrance tickets for the museum supports cashless...
Read moreThe museum was a bit of a walk from the train station, but once you get to the University of Shizuoka campus there's a nice forested area.
The museum's rotating exhibition was interesting (I rushed through a bit due to getting there right before a school trip joined), and the Rodin sculptures wing was worth the admission alone.
