The Nagaura toxic gas storage site refers to one of the locations on Okunoshima Island where toxic gases were stored during World War II. L'isola di Ōkunoshima é stata segretamente destinata dall'inizio della guerra russo-giapponese (circa 1915) fino alla fine della II Guerra Mondiale (1946), alla produzione di gas bellici anti-uomo: qui venivano prodotti, stoccati e distribuiti verso la terraferma questi mirabolanti prodotti della creatività umana. Per cui disseminati per tutta l'isola potrete trovare ruderi di batterie anti-aerei, siti di produzione e stoccaggio dei gas, spiagge artificiali per la distribuzione; c'è anche un museo che vi racconta tutto questo. Tutti siti da visitare per comprendere ancora una volta, se c'è ne fosse ancora bisogno, il male vero creato dall'uomo. Bizzarro e allo stesso tempo mirabile il fatto che, alla fine di tutto, l'isola sia stata conquistata dai conigli. La Natura alla fine vince sempre: per rivederci tutti nell'infinito nero che chiamiamo cosmo.

Truly astonishing. I visited the place for my research paper and found it visited by almost nobody at the time. Not so many people seem to walk or take bicycles that far; the place had no sound, not even waves from nearby ocean interrupted the dark magnitude of the remains.
