Tucked away in a quiet corner of Adachi, this park was such a refreshing find. It’s not the kind of place that screams for attention, but that’s exactly what makes it special. The entrance fee is just 300 yen, and for that, you get a surprisingly rich experience.
The butterfly greenhouse was a highlight for me. Walking through it felt like stepping into a dream, with butterflies fluttering all around. It’s not every day you get to be so close to these delicate creatures in such a serene setting.
Beyond the butterflies, the park offers a variety of exhibits. There’s a large aquarium near the entrance showcasing vibrant goldfish, and various enclosures housing reptiles, birds, and small mammals. One of the most charming aspects is the petting area, where you can interact with guinea pigs and rabbits. It’s clear that the animals are well cared for, and the staff are attentive and friendly.
The park also hosts seasonal events, like firefly viewing in the summer, which I’ve heard are magical. While I didn’t get to experience that myself, it’s on my list for next time.
Getting there requires a bit of effort—a 20-minute walk from Takenotsuka Station—but it’s worth it. The surrounding area is peaceful, making the journey part of the experience. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and enjoy a more relaxed, nature-focused outing, Adachi Park of Living Things is a...
