I booked the morning session for 3 y/o and he enjoyed looking at the different Eric Carle books on display. I do wish they had the English versions of his books displayed as well. Although it was a good way for me to practice reading in Japanese, I would prefer to read his books to my son in English. My son wasn’t much into playing on the slides and other play area stuff, so reading was a great way for him to enjoy his time.
He also had fun doing the other activities happening during our session. So I think there’s enough variety for kids with different preferences.
That being said, we did spend quite a bit of time in the craft room where they let us use different (recycled) materials to make stuff with. While my son enjoyed cutting up things, I, on the other hand, did not enjoy the scissors that were available on hand. I wish they had some (sharp) scissors that adults can use to assist their kids. Hehe.
For parents, having coffee readily available is a great treat. Even better is the fact that you can get as many cups as you want.
I’ll probably come back with my toddler in the future (hopefully the English versions would be available...
Read moreAn excellent couple of hours for the kids. Have now been twice: once with our daughter (just under 1) and a second time with her and her cousin (1.5). Important to reserve your slot in advance and make sure you get there at the start time to maximise your stay. The first time we went, we arrived an hour after the start time and really felt we missed out as our little one was having so much fun. The second time we made use of the full 2.5 hours and the kids were plying non-stop. There are activities and areas for all age groups and free coffee refills for adults. If you choose the morning slot there are plenty of lunch options for afterwards - we chose to buy some bentos and head down to the river...
Read moreYou can only stay during the time block for which you purchased your ticket. If you arrive late, you won’t be allowed to join the next block, and you’ll have to buy a new ticket. The ticket is expensive and the location is quite far, so it’s not really worth the investment for the limited time you get. The place itself is beautiful and there’s plenty to enjoy while you’re there, but I wouldn’t come back due to the high price and the long trip. It was a bit disappointing because my child wanted to keep playing and is a big fan of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. I would only recommend it if you live nearby and don’t mind spending the...
