the observatory is okay. there are some good views but its broken up by the chairlift. better to view the dunes from the dunes themselves. whats nice is theres a little restaurant that serves good food. the katsudon is particularly tasty. they also have lots of omiyage with tasting samples which is pretty rare! and the souvenirs are cute.

In this view center, you can buy different types of souvenir of Tottori, as well as having your meals as restaurants and soft ice cream or shaved ice will be found. Yet the best part will be you can take the sky lift across to the Tottori sand dune (one way or two ways), then visit the sand dune museum by entering the gate entrance.

9月下旬の夏日に鳥取駅からバスで訪問しました。最初は砂丘会館で下車する予定でしたが、バスから見た眺望が素晴らしいのでそのまま下車しました。 展望テラスから見た砂丘は素晴らしくとっさの選択に自分で自分を褒めたかったです。 そこからリフトで降りるとそのまま砂丘に到着しとても効率的な観光ができました。何故か左側にラクダがいました。 鳥取砂丘の映像は何度も見ていますが、直に見ると大分驚きます。果てしなく大きいわけでもないですが、日本に住んでいてこれほどまでの砂の量を目にすることはないので訪問できてよかったです。 馬の背まで歩くことはそれ程厳しくはない距離感ですが、夏にやることではないように思いますので次回涼しい季節に再訪したら登ってみたいと思います。 最後に鳥取駅で驚いたことが２つ、鳥取駅には自動改札がありませんのでICカードで乗ると出る時少々面倒です。駅そばでたぬきそばを頼んだらきつねそばでした。聞いたら西のたぬきそばは油揚げなんですね。 最後に訪問した翌日に自民党総裁が石破氏に決まりました。鳥取駅に自動改札が導入されるか楽しみです。
